Could not get it to connect to WiFi. App won’t work, definitely not worth any price. After over an hour just gave up. This will definitely be returned, so disappointed.

Purchased this robot in 2019 and in 2023 after many mishaps including my kids basically throwing it, sucking up liquids, etc it is still kicking. For the Black Friday price point I purchased it at I’m pretty happy with this investment. If this is your first robot vacuum I think you’ll be happy with it. It definitely kept me sane when dog hair and snack crumbs accumulated. I just upgraded this year, so I will be moving Albert to the basement for his retirement.

It works great for cleaning BUT it refuses to connect to the WiFi and to my phone. So I’m taking it back & getting a different one. If you don’t care about the phone capabilities then it’s great. I want to be able to personalize it and set times for it to go off and room boundaries so it doesn’t work for me. It also can’t find its home. It ran the home over at least 10 times before I just put it back on my own

The set up was pretty easy. The app took a couple tries to get it to connect to my wifi but it worked. You can schedule the vacuum and choose the vacuum setting. This vacuum does bump into things very loudly. It does go under my bed nicely to vacuum which is what i wanted. I also like it doesnt go down my stairs. There's no mapping so thats something to be aware of.

This item doesn’t have the mapping option. It bumps into everything, I hooked it up and had it go into 1 room and started bumping into everything and then I tried pushing the dock button to send it back to its home base and it kept going in all different directions. I will be returning this one and getting another Shark Matrix.

Works OK, not as good as hoped, app doesn't work for me. I miss the deebot I had before. But this shark does feel more sturdy and like it will last longer than the deebot. I don't understand why it back into the dock and then you have to remive it from the dock to access the dustbin. Manages clothes and cord on the floor better than deebot. But it's navigation algorithm is far less efficient. I really wish the app would work so I could schedule cleanings.

I just received this yesterday. It bumps into everything? The open end dust bin is a mistake also, you have to hold it level to empty it or it spills out the back of the bin. I am looking to replace this and buy something else.

If you're looking for a smart robot, this isn't it

It works, but barely. I had a shark robot vac for 6 years before this model. It worked great! It mapped and memorized the floor, had great cleaning ability, and could get itself unstuck from most places. This model is awful. It gets stuck so often that I think it would be less work actually to use a regular vacuum. It runs into everything, does not memorize or avoid problematic areas where it's prone to get stuck, and doesn't clean very well. I assumed it would improve as it mapped and memorized, but that's not the case.

Coding/programming flaw only allows to connect to Wi-Fi networks without spaces in the name. Once set up, does not clean well, specifically pushes pet hair around instead of sucking it up. Coverage is spotty. Unable to find dock on its own at end of cleaning. Will be returning.

Not good for dog hair

I’ve been using this vacuum for a little over 2 months now. I have a golden retriever, chocolate lab and one cat. The hair is to much for this vacuum to handle even with it running daily. I have to clean the bristles of the vacuum every time it runs as the hair gets tangled in it. The vacuum itself also doesn’t hold much at all. Just by vacuuming my living room the whole container gets full. I still have to vacuum with my regular vacuum after it runs. It also leaves big chunks of hair behind when going between hard floors and carpet. Overall I’m not too impressed.

I expected more from a Shark brand vacuum

I had an off brand robot vacuum that I used at least once a day for 2 years straight (3 cats). I loved it but it started wearing out and not working as well. I decided to spend the money on a Shark because I like their products usually. However, this is a cheap robot and acts that way too. There is no way to control it from the app except for on/off, and suction speed, there is no edge mode either. It turns on and speeds around, ramming into everything. I thought it should sense walls, etc so that it doesn't ram them but no, this doesn't. I returned it within 24 hours.

App mapping is terrible !

I got this vacuum, because, as a busy person, I don’t have time to vacuum every day to clean up dirt that has tracked in by us or our furry friends. As far as the actual vacuuming goes, this picks up great! However, as far as trying to get the mapping to go, it could use some work. You put the app on your phone, connect to the vacuum via wifi, and let it map out your house. I tried doing that, and it didn’t go along the edges like I thought it would, but rather zigzagged all over the place. I thought that maybe it was just figuring out where things were to avoid. However, when I set it to vacuum mode, it zigzagged and missed quite a few spots, so wasn’t very accurate. I’m not sure how to fix that, and wish I could manually move the vacuum to go where I want it to, initially, then let it do its thing. Also, if you move the charger base, even just a little bit, you have to remap again. The cleaning part is great! The mapping part? Not so much.

Doesn’t pick up trash as well as expected. It had a malfunction after a few months of owning it. It would always get stuck in the same position/spot never traveled around the house. Maybe good enough for a small apartment (like a dorm) not so much for an average house/living room. Wouldn’t recommend.

I had purchased two Shark Ion robot vacuums one month apart 4 years ago. Two weeks after the first vacuum had suction component failure, the second vacuum had the same problem, therefore rendering both vacuums useless. I was a fan of these Shark Ion vacuums prior to this. The vacuums worked well until they both failed. I still have a 9 year-old Shark Ion that works wonderfully and have since purchased an IRobot vacuum. Unfortunately, because if the poor quality that leads to vacuum failure, I will not purchase any more robot vacuums from Shark.

I wish I had chosen any other robot vacuum. I've used Roomba's in the past but when we moved into a new house we decided to upgrade to a newer vacuum model. We chose this one and I wish I hadn't. To start, it bangs into every wall and item very loudly and forecefully, marking up the walls. It also seems to wander aimlessly without any sort of strategy. I'll let it run in one room until the battery dies and there are still spots in the middle of the room that it has missed. The worst part is empyting it. You have to use significant force to get the comparment open and it gets everywhere. If you empty it after it's cleaned, you're going to have to clean that spot all over again.

Decent basic robot vacuum for the lowest price at $150. It cleans my apartment well, mix of rugs and hardwood. There’s no remote, you have to use a smartphone app which has more limited controls than my previous Deebot - the Shark app lacks any directional controls and does not have status indicators for brush and filter replacement.
