Q: What's the difference been an area rug and a carpet, and why can this machine only clean area rugs but not carpets?

A: Carpet is generally thicker, higher threads and has a padding underlayment that can hold moisture. You would use this only on rugs that don't have padding underneath

A: The Hydrovac can not be used for dry vacuuming. There must be fluid in the Clean Solution Tank for the unit to run. The unit will turn off and indicate when you have run out of cleaning solution.

Best vacuum I've ever used
I got this hydrovac for cleaning the floors easily since I have little kids and I can say they are worth it. My family has put it through the ringer it's been used to clean up milk, eggs, pee, water, mud and name it it'll clean it. It's been thrown outside left in the rain and still works. It's my goto to clean my floors I love it and will live by it

Absolutely not recommended.
I would love to give this thing 0 stars if possible. This thing doesn't dry vaccum so you can't use it on area rug cause it will make rug wet everytime you vaccim. 1st I brought the shark hydroduo, I opened it and immediately noticed there was absolutely no space for dust and water collecting it didn't even have a holder. I drove back to the store and returned it same day and brought this one because I was like okay I will spend more money and at least will have better function. I brought this home and now another problem . In today's world everyone uses area rug. So they expect us to keep buying vaccum. I brought a 2 in one so I don't need a separate mop and now I need a separate vaccum instead.

Dont bother, its very difficult to use and takes up so much time. It seems "okay" for small areas but a broom and steam mop will get the job done quicker and better.

This changed my life, I have a ton of floor I have to clean, I would vacuum then mop and it was back breaking. Now I just use one machine and just one pass through and it does it all. Taper your expectations, this is not great on corners or right up against baseboards and the battery life isn’t as long as other cordless vacuums but the price and job it does is well worth it. Save yourself time and effort and buy one.

I love my shark hydro vac! having 3 kids and 3 pets makes my house and floors messy!! this makes it a breeze to clean up as it basically sweeps AND mops without a bucket!! Just remember to empty the dirty water and clean the basket every time and your good to go. I love this so much I even bought one for work! My workers love the ease of use as well!! I am looking at getting another one just in case! I love it so much!! The kids offer to clean as well!! 😍 I use it on my vinyl floors and throw rugs.

Absolutely LOOOVE our new cordless HydroVac MessMaster! It’s exactly what we needed in our life to make cleaning the floors a breeze! We have 2 large dogs who tend to track in all the nasty and a baby who loves to crawl all over… We needed something to make cleaning easier and THIS IS IT! I actually look forward to waking up in the morning, enjoying my coffee and get to HydroVacuuming right away so the floors are ready for my little one to get movin’ & groovin’!😁 P.S. We did originally order the HydroDuo, I thought I wanted to be able to control the amount of water that came out but honestly found that too difficult… not only that but the HydroDuo (also cordless) didn’t have enough power to get the job done which was frustrating… lastly the dirty water tank is super tiny in that one (it was overflowing immediately when we tried to clean up some spilled milk) even more frustrating. If your like us and want to save a few bucks, don’t bother with the HydroDuo just go HYDROVAC ALL THE WAY!

It's bad at all the things.
It’s a really bad mop and even worse vacuum. It doesn’t reach the edge and corners of a floor by a good 6 inches. It just pushed hair all around my apartment rather than vacuuming anything up. It leaves soap residue everywhere and I cleaned it more than I would a regular mop. Don’t waste your money. Buy a vacuum and a Swiffer mop instead.

Wait and see.
I bought the Shark Hydro vac Mess master in April. Everything worked fine until July. The vacuum cleaner stopped working. I went through the troubleshooting guide and the vacuum still doesn’t work. Called Shark and after a few calls I got a replacement vacuum cleaner. I will wait and see how long this vacuum works.
