Q: What's the difference been an area rug and a carpet, and why can this machine only clean area rugs but not carpets?
A: Carpet is generally thicker, higher threads and has a padding underlayment that can hold moisture. You would use this only on rugs that don't have padding underneath
submitted byRay - 3 months agoA: The main difference is the size. Carpets are usually larger than area rugs. This machine was not designed to work as a carpet cleaner. It is a hard floor vacuum mop and could eventually be used to clean small rugs.

Q: Does it steam mop or just with whatever temperature water you put into the tank?
A: This product does not heat the water; instead, it relies on the cleaning solution to disinfect the surface.
submitted byProduct reviewer - 1 year agoA: The HydroVac MessMaster does not heat water; it uses water at the temperature you put into the tank, which should be between 40°F and 95°F—normal tap water is recommended, and boiling water should not be used as it may damage internal parts.

Q: Can you use it as a dry vacuum only
A: The Hydrovac can not be used for dry vacuuming. There must be fluid in the Clean Solution Tank for the unit to run. The unit will turn off and indicate when you have run out of cleaning solution.
