  • A: Try using water to flush it out! When I couldn't clean out my vacuum's tube using wire, a long brush, etc which only packed the blockage in more, I tried water from a faucet and all the packed in dust that had caused a dust-fiber blockage, loosened and it all flew out like magic!

  • A: I found that the tube was packed with dust. Check all you tubing to make sure there isn't anything stuck. There actually are three filters so make sure they are all cleaned and dried before reattaching to the vacuum. I know for me, it was driving me crazy trying to figure why it was working as well as it did, and to my surprise it was just clogged with dust and stuff. I hope this helps :)

  • A: Detatch the handle/motor unit (top piece) and hang it on the front the upright suction tube stick that connects it to the wheel/suction base. (keep the suction stick attached to the bottom base... there is a hook on the upright tube). This vac does not need to be stored laying on it's side! Ours is neatly stored with the top piece hooked onto the other two pieces.

  • A: This vacuum does not stand up on it's own. You can either use the wall attachment or lean it up against a wall. This is not an answer to this question, but I did have this model for about 2 years, and then the tubing cracked down near the vacuum head. Not worth fixing, so I bought the Shark Rocket Duo-Clean, and just the ability to actually remove the rollers and clean them off is worth the upgrade. Lots of wool rug fuzz and tons of pet hair are so much easier to pull or cut off now than trying to clean this model's roller brush, which cannot be removed at all. Not sure if or which other models have removable roller brushes, but it's worth it. The dust cup is fully removable on the Duo-Clean as well, which is handy. Personally, I think these are kind of expensive vacuums, but the pros generally outweigh the cons for me.

  • A: It goes into that clear container at the top of the handle. You will be able to see the dust collect in it and that way you know when to empty it. No big bag like in conventional cleaners. You don't need a large container. Of course you have to empty it fairly often, more often than changing a big bag or a conventional bagless one.

  • A: The clear container where you hand hold the vacumm is where all the dust is collected. It is pushed with a rotating force that compresses the layers of dust and hair collected. You can vacumm a couple of times before you have open it and dump the dust out. I completely love this vacumm, it is light in weight and very easy to use.

    Love this little vaccuum! Apartment friendly.

    My husband and I picked this up when 50% off (on sale for $109), and we have been using a $30 cheapo one for our apartment prior. Super worth it! We picked this up as a post-wedding upgrade to our life. It's been a lifesaver for our needs; we have two pets, a shedding plush-furred cat and a short haired greyhound who rarely sheds, in a small two-floor apartment with only flat-woven rugs. That is, the scale and low-requirements of our lifestyle made this vaccuum so so easy to use. Suction is strong, swivel and weight are good/functional, the long cord means one plug per floor. Accessories are helpful (especially inside the couch or in cracks/crevices). If you had a constantly-shedding husky or a big house, I would maybe reconsider, but this is the perfect vaccuum for our needs. Highly recommend!

    It’s a really nice vacuum! Top is heavy but overall does come with attachments and good for my apartment, after a year in a half of having it it started to spit the trash back out and not suction anything up but I simply called shark and it took them 10 mins to send mr a brand new one! I spent $10 on shipping!

    Defective vacuum

    I bought this for $146 I believe it was partially on sell or with taxes it came to that but my vacuum broke within a few months, I couldn’t find my receipt, I took it back to the store and pulled up my debit card that had the Target purchase on there but it didn’t show what it exactly was for so the customer service guy wouldn’t allow me to exchange it for another one. Highly upset because I bought that vacuum to replace my broken vacuum just for this vacuum to stop working within months. The motor is messed up, smells like it’s burning, makes funny noise. Very disappointed to spend so much on 3 months of use.

    Not great at picking up hair

    As someone with long hair and a golden retriever this vacuum doesn’t do a great job or picking up hair. Long hair gets wrapped in the brush and is hard to get out (even with the scissor line to help cut it out. Works great for everyday use on carpets and floors where limited hair is present.

    As a house keeper I’ve used MANY vacuums. And I love this vacuum! I had this model for many years and it’s one that will last. The previous shark rocket I had lasted over 8 years! Price and suction I feel are hard to beat. It does well on carpet and hard surfaces floors with a light to see and dust or hairs you might miss. The wand can be released with your foot which I love (I’m lazy when it comes to switching attachments if they seem too cumbersome.) All attachments are easy to use and separate my 7 year old can easily handle. My only complaint is if you have a lot of pet hair of a larger space, you may have to dump the vacuum more frequently, which could be irritating for some. The filter is easy to clean and the vacuum is easy to maintain. I always recommend this vacuum to clients with smaller spaces, it doesn’t disappoint.

    Do not buy thos vacuum

    Garbage vacuum — easily is overloaded and completely broken by outlets and gets stuck on high pile rugs despite having a setting for it. It’s on sale frequently for a reason (and target won’t price match when you try to exchange it after you get yet another defective one!) Please save yourself the stress of this vacuum

    Shark vacuum its a big no!!!!

    All I can say is that it sucks. It didn’t work for my carpet and it stopped working after a few months! Less than half a year. Bad product… 😡 I certainly don’t recommend it!! It sounds like the motor stopped working! It’s not picking up the dirt or cleaning my carpet.
