Q: Is there a way to manually remove the dust cup - if so how to remove it (to clean the dust cup interior) on the Shark Power Detect Cordless Stick Vacuum Auto Empty System?

A: To manually empty the dust cup on the PowerDetect cordless stick vacuum, detach the handheld vacuum from the wand by pressing the wand release button. Position the dust cup over a trash receptacle, then press the dust cup release slide on the left side of the handheld vacuum. Tap gently to empty contents. Remove any debris or hair from the cone-shaped screen inside the dust cup. Wipe the interior of the dust cup clean if needed. To manually remove the dust cup itself, press the trash icon to remove the dust cup from the unit. Also, by removing the dust cup, you have access to the 2 pre-motor foam filters and the post-motor HEPA filter to clean them and keep your vacuum's optimal suction performance.

A: Runtimes are based on a new, fully charged battery. Like all lithium-ion products, the battery will naturally decrease in capacity over time. In ECO mode, the battery can achieve up to 70 minutes of runtime, and in Boost mode, it can be up to 15-20 minutes approximately.

A: The port on the PowerDetect handle is for the charging cable that is not included in the box, as the dock is what is used to charge the vacuum. You can purchase the charging cable separately by contacting our phone support at 1-855-427-5127.

I bought this vacuum with high hopes but I am very disappointed. I am only able to vacuum for 10 minutes and it dies. battery does not last long, no longer than 10 minutes

I like the weight and size of it, but I am disappointed that the dog hair get caught up in the rollers. It had mentioned that it wouldn't do that, but unfortunately it does. Not knowing it was doing it the machine started running hot and then shut itself off, which is a good thing I guess. All in all it works good.

Definitely not what it’s hyped up to be. I disagree that it has a strong suction. It definitely leaves dirt behind. It does not life dirt out of the edges as the commercial shows. I feel very deceived. Not happy at all with my purchase. I will stick to Dyson.

So far.....so good.....This is our 3rd Shark Vacuum....our 1st cordless....it is lightweight.....attachments snap on and off with ease. The suction (Like all Shark vacuums) is VERY strong. Love the docking station.....It's a MUST BUY!!!

I totally like the detection of what surface it is vacuuming, how light it is, and how easy it is to maneuver. The battery lasts a surprisingly long time—or maybe I don't last that long! The hand tools are not the greatest, but they are suitable for a quick flyover on the trim boards. The self-clean system does not fully empty the contents; it sometimes gets hung up on the way it is designed. I liked it so much that I bought another one!

This vacuum works great if you have no kids and no animals and barely make any messes!!! It’s brown. So many times already and we’ve not had it even 6 months.

We've had this about 2 weeks now and it has been great to use all over the house. I'm super impressed how well it does on hardwood floors. It's a little hard to push it on a dirty rub when it's sucking so hard, but not so bad you can't do it. It has done great at sucking up bugs, cleaning the baseboards, and the suction on it is top notch. I am not disappointed at all. I should add the self emptying container was something my husband really wanted, but this was a top notch decision to get. So easy, and maintains the dog smell so well.

I bought this vacuum for Black Friday last year. I have a large house and was tired of constantly unplugging and replugging my vaccum for each room. This vacuum, sucks to say the least. If you have pets, do not waste your time. The suction part, gets clogged with pet hair in less the 5 mins of vacuuming. So you constantly have to go empty it even though the bin is NO where near full. Then my pet hair, Got stuck so I had to manually empty it.. and the tiny little plastic piece holding it together broken in the first month. Parts weren’t even available on the website bc they were out of stock. Then pet hair gets clogged in the roller brush, OFTEN. Plus my right tiny roller wheel, also gets pet hair stuck and you have to use tweezers to get it all out. I also can’t even vacuum my entire house on one charge! Unless you were to go in to lower power mode? Useless.. I have a low pile rug in my living room, and for whatever reason? I can’t seem to push the vacuum across it. Neither than my husband? I tried making sure all the brushes and wheels were clear? They are, still will not let me push across it. If you have more then 2 bedrooms, a living room and office, don’t bother bc you have to wait for charges to even finish it all.. and pets with hair, I wouldn’t even bother. For the price I would expect it to not get constantly clogged.

I did a ton of research before buying this, and I’ve waited 5 months before writing this to ensure I wasn’t being too hasty. Let’s start with the good- the self empty system is truly amazing. It makes vacuuming so easy, I love that function. Now, let’s get to everything else… I have two pets, that only mildly shed. It cannot keep up with their hair. My previous vacuum that started with the D word was much better at keeping up. There is constantly hair left behind, not fully picked up after I vacuum two to three times in a row. Then, I try to vacuum multiple surfaces, like hardwood floors and carpet stairs- and it overheats. It cannot do both. So, I’m stuck before company comes over with half vacuumed stairs. It’s a very first world problem in the grand scheme of things, but I’m disappointed that I invested so much money in a device that had great claims of its abilities, only to see that it cannot keep up. I’m a loyal Shark/Ninja fan. This one just doesn’t hit the mark.

This vacuum is actually annoying. Its main mode is detection, but it really fails to detect correctly on carpet and near walls. The videos I watched say it should increase suction aren’t walls to help pick up pieces. I honestly gave it a few times to get the crumbs need the range, but it couldn’t. So I increase the mode to high, STILL couldn’t get the crumbs. So the only way get them is with the crevice attachment, but these crumbs aren’t even tiny or underneath the range. The carpet mode is horrendous, it works on my ruggable but not on my cotton rug from nesting, but basically the brush roll stops and I have to turn the vacuum of and on to get it to work again. I got this to replace my Dyson v7 that I have for 5 years and I may just need to get another Dyson, but for quick vacuum this is NOT it.

I've been using my new Shark cordless vac for about two weeks. My previous was corded. So far I've been very happy with it, love the no cord! We have a dog and it has done well with cleaning up the hair. We have tile and wood floors, it cleans well. My old vacuum didn't clean going backwards and would spit items out because of the tile grout. I haven't had that issue with this one. It's much quieter than what I've had in the past, I expected it not to work as well because it was so quiet, but it works great, it does rev up when it detects more dirt on the floor. The flat attachment has worked well on the couch sides for dog hair. The attachments actually click in instead of just sliding together which is very nice. I really like the auto empty feature, nice spoiling feature. It's hard finding true reviews. I purchased it on my own because my old vac broke, no promotion, no sponsor, just me looking for a good vac.

We purchased this vacuum for several reasons, especially after testing the Dyson equivalent and at a much higher cost, and this model can’t be beat! 1) I was using a typical vacuum (corded) which was heavy and bulky, 2) we wanted our first cordless vacuum (win, with this model), 3) and love the tech built into the system - so cool.
So far, we are impressed. Just a few minor issues.

So far, so good, I need one of these due to mobility problems from bone and muscle problems. It's a lot easier to use than a traditional vacuum cleaner. I can actually vacuum the entire house using multiflex because it reduces strain on my arm and shoulders. It is a lot more powerful than our Vertex was and I like the easy empty feature. The boost mode is great for stubborn dirt. There are some downsides, it is extremely difficult to use if the carpet nap isn't followed. The big Shark upright vacuum cleaner has lights so you can see when using the attachments, I wish this were available on the cordless models.
Not for homes with multiple shedding dogs.

I bought this vacuum cleaner last October and have had multiple issues with it jamming up with dog hair. I defiantly like the functionality of this vacuum cleaner but not recommend if you own more than 2 corgis or dogs who shed! I have owned lots of shark vacuums in past, and I always have one on standby. I wish I had discovered this issue sooner then later.
