A: The battery is removable, but it can only be charged in the vacuum. To charge the battery, place your vacuum on the Auto-Empty Dock. A full charge takes approximately 5 hours. Leaving the unit plugged in will not damage battery life.

A: The dust cup will automatically empty once docked. To manual empty the dust cup, detach the handheld vacuum from the wand by pressing the wand release button. Position the dust cup over a trash receptacle, then press the dust cup release button on the left side on the handheld vacuum.. Tap gently to empty contents. Remove any debris or hair from the cone-shaped screen inside the dust cup. Wipe the interior of the dust cup clean if needed. Close the dust cup door, pressing it until it clicks into place.

Bought Evelyn (this vacuum) about 2-3 weeks ago and to say I am in love would be an understatement. This vacuum works hard to keep my house clean. For years I refused to purchase or have any vacuum in my home now I literally vacuum every day and I love how clean my floors stay.

I received this as a gift a few months ago and already I am disappointed in its performance. The battery life claims of a minimum of 60 minutes are not true. If I’m lucky I might get 30 minutes and that is using the auto detect feature…on high suction, only about 15 minutes. There is also dust/dirt stuck in a section of the cup that doesn’t come out and cannot be accessed. If I could return it I would but it was a gift and the receipt is not available. Too bad because the suction and its lightweight design are great features.

I have always used shark products. I love the auto empty feature however over time some tiny pieces of metal have somehow come loose and get attached to the magnet that helps the trap door stay closed. That is annoying. Also, on some rugs and surfaces it tends to just MOVE the dirt around instead of picking it up. Also the cord for the auto empty feature isn’t long enough since you have to keep it plugged in to use it…I tried to put in laundry room but the plugs are higher up in this area and it wouldn’t reach. Also there’s nothing to hold the attachments or even one attachment onto the actual vac so you have when you are going around the house. You have to carry it with you! Not as great as what the $ equaled

Really wanted to love this vacuum. We have owned several Shark vacuums and recently replaced/"upgraded" our stick vacuum to this one. Love the auto-empty system. Hate the automatic carpet detection, it does not work well - very delayed in sensing carpet, only stays in carpet mode for a short time (switches to lower mode before you even move off carpet, so then you stand there wasting time trying to get it to sense carpet again..) And on some carpet (our living room area rug) it doesn't sense carpet at all...Our last vacuum had a switch we could control for carpet - loved that. This vacuum does not and I can only imagine the automatic sensor is going to go downhill ever more the longer we have it. I am guessing we will need to replace/"upgrade" again before a year has passed. On a positive note - the battery seems to last for me to vacuum my 1,200+ sq. foot upstairs (2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, living, dining, kitchen, laundry, and entryway) without dying!

Bought this a few months ago but wanted to give it a good amount of time before I did a review. And I really didn't need to wait. Not at all happy with this vacuum. It's super loud and the suction is not good, at all. I end up having to go over the same spot about 4-5 swipes before everything is picked up. For the price of this vacuum and the Shark name I was sadly disappointed. Second guessing only using Shark products in my house.

We got this vac about 3 weeks ago. We found it to be very easy to use. the self-emptying feature to be very handy. I have some reserves about the durability of the plastic connection between the motor housing and the tube to the floor sweeper: it seems too weak for long lasting. All other features are exceptional.. My wife likes the lightweight feature.

I bought this vacuum roughly two weeks ago and it has been a game changer! I have medium pile carpet and 3 cats, let me tell you, this vacuum picks up EVERYTHING (litter, hair, food, etc..). It has the suction power similar to a corded vacuum (leaves the same lines which is satisfying to see). So much better than my Bissel stick vacuum. The auto-empty system is very convenient too. I can use it on two bedrooms before it needs to be charged which is perfect for me as my place isn't that big. I highly recommend this vacuum to people with pets and even children!

Bought this when it was on sale back during the Superbowl in '24. Only just now getting around to using it (Feb/March of '25) as I have just moved into my new apartment! I love this vacuum! For a 2br 1ba it's the perfect size. I leave it plugged into the charging dock all day while at work and come home to vacuum and I am able to vacuum the whole apartment on one charge. I can see how this size might be too small to manage an entire house, but for my purpose, it's perfect. It was easy to assemble and has an intuitive design. The dust flap on the bottom of the vacuum that auto-empties can sometimes get stuck open if there are any debris that get caught when it empties (I had a little jump ring that got caught and must have stuck in the magnetic flap) but otherwise, it works wonderfully. I love the auto-empty feature, and I especially love that it traps allergens as I am allergic to dust and pollen. (Hence me vacuuming frequently.) I love that there's a "quiet" or "night-time" mode for the dock where it won't auto-empty if the button is toggled. I also really like how it auto-senses what type of flooring it's being used on. So far, it has worked really well on both the carpet and the hardwood/laminate floors of my apartment. Compared to a traditional vacuum, it's also quieter. Not in the sense that you could use it with a napping infant, but in the sense that I don't feel the need to put in headphones to block out the noise. I recommend this vacuum if you will be using it in a smaller space- anywhere from a studio to a 3-bed apartment would likely be good. Anything larger (i.e. over 1350 sqft) might require a break in between sections of your house to recharge and empty.

There is no place to store the pet multi tool. There is a storage clip for the hand vacuum and duster crevice tool but nothing for the per multi tool. This tool can be easily misplaced.
