Q: I have had this vacuum for a few months & it will not suction properly anymore… will at times spit back out what it just vacuumed. Has anyone else had this issue or have any suggestions? I have cleaned out the filter, etc.

A: The flexible hose that enables the vac head to move up and down is probably the source of a clog. Remove the vac head from the stick handle and use one of those white plastic barbed drain cleaner things to gently remove the wad of whatever. Do yourself a favor and perform this task over a towel or trash bag. You can also remove the plate covering the brush head to really see what you’re doing.

The first use it worked great, I emptied the canister and as soon as they put it back together, it’s working less and less. Help! Lol.
submitted byGail - 4 months agoA: I have had several of these vacuums still do but the hair clogs them up quick! I use a wood skewer to pull the hair out from behind the roller brushes - it's a drag but when it's not clogged up it works great!

Q: Do you have to hold the button the whole time your vacuuming?

A: Basically yes. There's a button to turn it on, but it's about as powerful as sucking up dirt with a drinking straw, so you have to hold the button for "extra power" down the whole time.

After that you must plug it in once , turn it off and the use right pointer finger to turn on the light feature only. If you need to vacuum I suggest buying a Dyson spend 5 times as much as use that

A: Yes! This vacuum picks up everything. I have little ones; that’s why I bought it years ago. When there are tougher messes (like rice is tricky), I use it as a handheld and it sucks everything right up!

A: Remove all the hair n dirt on brush... and that it's not sticky... check make sure there isn't something stuck that's keeping it from working properly... the brush on this one doesn't come out sadly...

My Dyson V10 finally broke down after 8+ years. Thought I’d give this Shark a try since I’ve been impressed with the other Dyson to Shark switch I’ve made due to old age (blow dryer). Honestly, not comparable at all. The suction power just isn’t there. It’s top heavy so your hand cramps. It also doesn’t stand up on its own so you have to lean it wherever you store it. I have decided to clean and return the shark and I’ll just fix my V10. At the end of the day, there is a reason for the price difference and IMO, it’s justified. Yes I would recommend this vacuum as something easy to use and affordable but it’s just not for me.

Really disappointed in this one. The suction isn’t great and having to hold down a trigger for higher suction is annoying. Hair gets stuck in the wheels and pads on the bottom - especially pet hair. The run time isn’t that long either.

Not worth it for the price. I’ve gotten cheaper cordless vacuums that have worked better than this. The suction isn’t very strong and I can barely finish vacuuming my house before the battery dies, and then it takes forever to charge.

Battery life lasted about 3 years, now barely holds a charge. Tried to replace the the battery myself. Screw covers were hard to get off. once the screws were out, the case was clamped on so tight that it broke 2 of my clamshell openers and 1 screwdriver before cracking. I'm going to spend almost $200 on a vacuum, I should be able to replace a part much easier than this. I will not buy a Shark ever again

Do not waste your money! Shark use to be a great brand to buy. I bought this for in my camper and it sucks! Doesn’t pic up all the dirt. You can go over and over spots and there is still dirt. The battery life is junk. A smaller shark vacuum I had for in my car lasted so much longer. You have to take the bucket off every time you are done which is annoying and it feels like it will break.

not a bad vacuum but a bit top heavy, something keeps clicking while i use it, sounds like something is stuck but isnt. Annoying sound and i'm past the time to return it to Target to get another one which i would do but that time has past.
