Q: It states in the manual “do not use the Dust-away hard floor attachment without the microfiber pad.” Was there supposed to be a pad included or is this something separate that needs to be purchased?

submitted by Buffi - 6 years ago
  • A: We would like to let you know that if your unit came with a dust-away attachment a pad should have come with it as well.

submitted byShark Support Team - 3 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: No. It also showed it hanging on a wall. But no wall hook was included with mine. If you want to hang it up, you gotta buy the hook separately and its another $15 including shipping

    submitted byJack D - 3 years ago
  • A: Pad was included. Not very happy with my purchase. Does not work well on floors without carpets.

submitted byPam - 6 years ago
  • A: Mine did not come with any extras at all, decided to return it. Says on the box and instructions it does, but nothing was in the box.

submitted byTrina - 6 years ago
  • A: Hi, Yes, the microfiber pads are included with the product. Please find the description in the " Product Details" on the Target Product Webpage. Also, kindly find the same description copy pasted below: "This ultra-lightweight upright vacuum easily converts into a hand vac for versatile floor-to-ceiling cleaning, and comes with a Dust-Away™ hard floor attachment. Includes; Dust-Away™ Hard Floor Attachment + 1 Washable Microfiber Pad, Wide Pet Upholstery Tool, Dusting Brush, 12” Crevice Tool, Wall Mount Storage hook, Accessory Bag" Also, at $99.99, it would be highly recommended with all the included accessories. Hope this helps!

submitted bySAT - 6 years ago
  • A: Mine didn't come with it either. I returned it. The description on almost every website this vacuum is offered lists the Dust-Away, yet I've purchased 2 vacuums and neither have actually come with it. VERY misleading.

submitted byAnnoyed Customer - 6 years ago

Q: Does this vacuum stand on it's own for storage? Or do you have to use the wall attachment?

submitted by MissAnderson - 5 years ago
  • A: Detatch the handle/motor unit (top piece) and hang it on the front the upright suction tube stick that connects it to the wheel/suction base. (keep the suction stick attached to the bottom base... there is a hook on the upright tube). This vac does not need to be stored laying on it's side! Ours is neatly stored with the top piece hooked onto the other two pieces.

submitted bywhat a bargain - 3 years ago
  • A: This vacuum does not stand up on it's own. You can either use the wall attachment or lean it up against a wall. This is not an answer to this question, but I did have this model for about 2 years, and then the tubing cracked down near the vacuum head. Not worth fixing, so I bought the Shark Rocket Duo-Clean, and just the ability to actually remove the rollers and clean them off is worth the upgrade. Lots of wool rug fuzz and tons of pet hair are so much easier to pull or cut off now than trying to clean this model's roller brush, which cannot be removed at all. Not sure if or which other models have removable roller brushes, but it's worth it. The dust cup is fully removable on the Duo-Clean as well, which is handy. Personally, I think these are kind of expensive vacuums, but the pros generally outweigh the cons for me.

submitted bypdkf - 5 years ago
  • A: It does stand on it's own if the handle is hanging on the base. Not sure why Shark doesn't show a picture of what it looks like in the storage mode. I have had this vacuum for over 5 years and I absolutely love it too. For those who say it has lost suction, I would have to ask if they have cleaned out the filters.

submitted byJCAZ - 5 years ago
  • A: It does not stand on its own.

submitted byBetan - 5 years ago
  • A: We can assist you with your request. The Shark Rocket Ultra-Light Corded Stick Vacuum does not stand up on it's own. It would need to be leaned against something such as a wall or use the wall mount when storing.

Q: I washed and air dried the foam filter. When I went to vacuum it is no longer picking up the dirt..., It seem to be blowing it out. I can't figure it out

submitted by Anusette - 6 years ago
  • A: Try using water to flush it out! When I couldn't clean out my vacuum's tube using wire, a long brush, etc which only packed the blockage in more, I tried water from a faucet and all the packed in dust that had caused a dust-fiber blockage, loosened and it all flew out like magic!

submitted byGraceful Handy Lady - 3 years ago
  • A: I found that the tube was packed with dust. Check all you tubing to make sure there isn't anything stuck. There actually are three filters so make sure they are all cleaned and dried before reattaching to the vacuum. I know for me, it was driving me crazy trying to figure why it was working as well as it did, and to my surprise it was just clogged with dust and stuff. I hope this helps :)

Q: where is all the dust contained--I see nothing big enough.?

submitted by sheila - 6 years ago
  • A: The clear container where you hand hold the vacumm is where all the dust is collected. It is pushed with a rotating force that compresses the layers of dust and hair collected. You can vacumm a couple of times before you have open it and dump the dust out. I completely love this vacumm, it is light in weight and very easy to use.

submitted byRoxMol - 6 years ago
  • A: It goes into that clear container at the top of the handle. You will be able to see the dust collect in it and that way you know when to empty it. No big bag like in conventional cleaners. You don't need a large container. Of course you have to empty it fairly often, more often than changing a big bag or a conventional bagless one.

submitted byBetan - 6 years ago
  • A: We would like to let you know that there is a dust cup on the main hand held part of the unit.

submitted byShark Support Team - 3 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: Cup fills up fast and the problem is you have to unplug every time to empty unless you carry trash container with you. Also clogs easy, check frequently.

submitted byPam - 6 years ago

Q: I have only wood and tile floors so I DO NOT want or need a "beater bar". Can you tell me if this has a "beater bar". I don't see any information on that in the specs.

submitted by Liz - 6 years ago
  • A: Push the handle's one switch forward once for wood or tile and forward one more time for the brush roller bar. It's not necessary to ever engage the bar if you don't want to use it.

submitted bypatti - 6 years ago
  • A: We would like to let you know that this unit does have a brushroll.

submitted byShark Support Team - 3 years ago

  • A: Yes it does have a beater bar with brisles. It can be turned off on the handle.

Q: In a previous response, someone from the "Shark Support Team" says the cord is 30 inches long- was that supposed to be feet? Thirty inches would be very difficult to vacuum work.

submitted by Katie - 6 years ago
  • A: The cord is 30 FEET long.

submitted byMartha - 6 years ago
  • A: We would like to let you know that the cord length for this unit is 25 feet.

submitted byShark Support Team - 3 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: It is 30 feet long and not 30 inches.

Q: Does this vaccum pick up cat liter?

submitted by Lori - 5 years ago
  • A: Hello Lori, We are happy to confirm that the Shark® Rocket® Ultra-Light Upright can pick up dry, non-used cat litter. We hope this information helps. The Customer Support Team

submitted byShark Support Team - 5 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: It is NOT recommended to use the Shark Rocket on damp cat litter or Feces. Or any larger trash. If you can pick it up by hand , sweep or use damp towel rags, use a broom rag or paper towel to get obvious chunky dibris and save the deep cleaning for this delicate stick Vacumn. Maybe upgrade to removable piece to remove my long hair. Must treat it as tech to make it last.

Q: Does this come with the pet fur attachment? In the description it says it includes the wide pet attachment but then under what is included, it doesn’t list this.

submitted by Alicia - 6 years ago
  • A: We would like to let you know that this unit comes with a Crevice tool, Upholstery tool, and Anti-allergen dust brush.

submitted byShark Support Team - 3 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: There is an attachment that is oblong and has a brush on the end. I assume that is a pet attachment. The other brush is square and I use it for un-upholstered surfaces.

submitted byElizabeth - 6 years ago

Q: Does it come with a lyrics booklet? Confused

submitted by Target Lover - 6 years ago
  • A: This unit does come with a user's manual.

submitted byShark Support Team - 3 years ago
    Brand expert
  • A: It does come with instructions on how to use as well as maintain your vacuum. Hope this helps.

I love this vacuum! It is small and not heavy. I love that I can take it apart 2 different ways. One way you can attach different pieces depending on what you need to vacuum and the other way, you can vacuum your ceiling or get hard to reach places. I feel like it cleans my carpet and hardwood floors great!

I think this is a decent vacuum for the price. It works better on carpets, than on hardwood floors -- even though it has a hardwood floor setting. It leaves crumbs of what you vacuumed up on the hardwood floor. Its a good vacuum if you are on a budget.

Poor suction power, it's a noisy vacuum, louder than my blender and for the last the air ventilator blows the air directly to the face.

This vacuum is just ok. It’s a typical corded vacuum cleaner. It does a nice job. It is able to sweep my ruggable which is nice, but the suction is too powerful for other soft pile rugs in our home. The I would probably give 4 stars if the vacuum could stand up on its own. You have to lean it against something to keep it standing up.

I bought two of these last November. One for my work and one at home. I don't get it...neither of them have good suction. I'll vacuum over crumbs, a bug or dirt and it throws half of it back out. it's so time consuming to vacuum now. Not happy with these purchases.

Loved this at first. Lightweight, picked up everything including pet hair very well. After 6 months- it completely died. The spinning brush stoped moving and began to start smelling like burning (had just been emptied and nothing clogging any of the areas). Past return window- not happy with purchase

Good but not for everyone

4 out of 5 stars
PK - 22 days ago
Bought this vacuum to use downstairs, so I didn't have to carry our Dyson up and down the stairs. Wanted something lightweight that could also be used to vacuum our carpeted stairs. Overall, we like this vacuum and it works for us, but I don't think it's for everyone. Pros: Great suction, works very well. The long mode is great for vacuuming floors, the medium mode is great for our couch and the short mode is great for our stairs. Cons: The vacuum's weight is not distributed well, as the motor is what you hold, so the heaviest part of it is what you're always holding. Anyone who has muscle weakeness/arthritis or something similar in their hands or upper body probably won't be able to use this much/at all. My hands and arms get fatigued holding it too long, especially when I'm trying to deep clean a rug. Also due to the poor weight distribution, sometimes the vacuum gets away from me on smooth floors and pulls me forward. When you need to empty the debris, you have to unglup the vacuum and move the cord with you to the trash can. This is the most inconvenient part for us. Also you need both hands to open the debris container - one to hold it and the other to push the button and/or open the door. Not ideal when you're trying to release a spider and you don't want it anywhere near you. As other reviewers have mentioned, the vacuum won't stand independently on its own, I just lean it against a table or countertop and it works fine so I don't have an issue with it but it is not ideal for most.

Great but short life

I love this vacuum because it actually sucks up all the pet hair etc. from the carpet. Like the first time I used it, there was a visible difference even though I had just vacuumed with our old vacuum. I’ve had it since Nov 2021. The second setting (for carpet) has stopped working here and there and now seems to have stopped completely. If this lasted longer it would be a 5 star vac for sure.

Wanted to like this as I was hoping a lightweight corded vacuum could be a replacement for my lightweight cordless that finally bit the dust after a few years of use. I realized corded would obviously be different, but the design of this vacuum makes it frustrating. The cord holders make it difficult to detach the base without fully unrolling cord. The canister can't be emptied without bringing the entire cord with you (again, involving unrolling the entire cord). Suction has not lived up to my expectations - I just vacuumed a berber carpet (aka not plush) on high vacuum power and had to go behind and pick up all the little things that were left behind, and this is a month old vacuum that is plugged in. Wish we hadn't gotten rid of the packaging or I would return this.

I bought it as a present when it was on sale and today while giving as gift, went to try it out with no accessories advertised in the box, no filter, and no suction power. The only thing it was suitable for out of the box was throwing dirt around. This has to be a returned item that Target just put back on the shelf.
