Q: I washed and air dried the foam filter. When I went to vacuum it is no longer picking up the dirt..., It seem to be blowing it out. I can't figure it out
A: Thank you for advice, Icare55, that was very helpful
submitted byAnusette - 7 years agoA: Try using water to flush it out! When I couldn't clean out my vacuum's tube using wire, a long brush, etc which only packed the blockage in more, I tried water from a faucet and all the packed in dust that had caused a dust-fiber blockage, loosened and it all flew out like magic!
submitted byGraceful Handy Lady - 5 years agoA: Does it have a light
submitted byFocus - 20 days agoA: Hello Annette, To assist you with your Shark we ask that you contact us at 877-581-7375. The Customer Support Team
submitted byShark Support Team - 7 years agoBrand expertA: I found that the tube was packed with dust. Check all you tubing to make sure there isn't anything stuck. There actually are three filters so make sure they are all cleaned and dried before reattaching to the vacuum. I know for me, it was driving me crazy trying to figure why it was working as well as it did, and to my surprise it was just clogged with dust and stuff. I hope this helps :)

Q: It states in the manual “do not use the Dust-away hard floor attachment without the microfiber pad.” Was there supposed to be a pad included or is this something separate that needs to be purchased?
A: We would like to let you know that if your unit came with a dust-away attachment a pad should have come with it as well.
submitted byShark Support Team - 4 years agoBrand expertA: Pad was included. Not very happy with my purchase. Does not work well on floors without carpets.
submitted byPam - 7 years agoA: Mine did not come with any extras at all, decided to return it. Says on the box and instructions it does, but nothing was in the box.
submitted byTrina - 7 years agoA: No. It also showed it hanging on a wall. But no wall hook was included with mine. If you want to hang it up, you gotta buy the hook separately and its another $15 including shipping
submitted byJack D - 4 years agoA: Hi, Yes, the microfiber pads are included with the product. Please find the description in the " Product Details" on the Target Product Webpage. Also, kindly find the same description copy pasted below: "This ultra-lightweight upright vacuum easily converts into a hand vac for versatile floor-to-ceiling cleaning, and comes with a Dust-Away hard floor attachment. Includes; Dust-Away Hard Floor Attachment + 1 Washable Microfiber Pad, Wide Pet Upholstery Tool, Dusting Brush, 12” Crevice Tool, Wall Mount Storage hook, Accessory Bag" Also, at $99.99, it would be highly recommended with all the included accessories. Hope this helps!
submitted bySAT - 7 years agoA: Mine didn't come with it either. I returned it. The description on almost every website this vacuum is offered lists the Dust-Away, yet I've purchased 2 vacuums and neither have actually come with it. VERY misleading.

Q: Does this vacuum stand on it's own for storage? Or do you have to use the wall attachment?
A: Detatch the handle/motor unit (top piece) and hang it on the front the upright suction tube stick that connects it to the wheel/suction base. (keep the suction stick attached to the bottom base... there is a hook on the upright tube). This vac does not need to be stored laying on it's side! Ours is neatly stored with the top piece hooked onto the other two pieces.
submitted bywhat a bargain - 4 years agoA: It does stand on it's own if the handle is hanging on the base. Not sure why Shark doesn't show a picture of what it looks like in the storage mode. I have had this vacuum for over 5 years and I absolutely love it too. For those who say it has lost suction, I would have to ask if they have cleaned out the filters.
submitted byJCAZ - 6 years agoA: It does not stand on its own.
submitted byBetan - 7 years agoA: This vacuum does not stand up on it's own. You can either use the wall attachment or lean it up against a wall. This is not an answer to this question, but I did have this model for about 2 years, and then the tubing cracked down near the vacuum head. Not worth fixing, so I bought the Shark Rocket Duo-Clean, and just the ability to actually remove the rollers and clean them off is worth the upgrade. Lots of wool rug fuzz and tons of pet hair are so much easier to pull or cut off now than trying to clean this model's roller brush, which cannot be removed at all. Not sure if or which other models have removable roller brushes, but it's worth it. The dust cup is fully removable on the Duo-Clean as well, which is handy. Personally, I think these are kind of expensive vacuums, but the pros generally outweigh the cons for me.
submitted bypdkf - 7 years agoA: We can assist you with your request. The Shark Rocket Ultra-Light Corded Stick Vacuum does not stand up on it's own. It would need to be leaned against something such as a wall or use the wall mount when storing.

Q: where is all the dust contained--I see nothing big enough.?
A: The clear container where you hand hold the vacumm is where all the dust is collected. It is pushed with a rotating force that compresses the layers of dust and hair collected. You can vacumm a couple of times before you have open it and dump the dust out. I completely love this vacumm, it is light in weight and very easy to use.
submitted byRoxMol - 7 years agoA: It goes into that clear container at the top of the handle. You will be able to see the dust collect in it and that way you know when to empty it. No big bag like in conventional cleaners. You don't need a large container. Of course you have to empty it fairly often, more often than changing a big bag or a conventional bagless one.
submitted byBetan - 7 years agoA: Cup fills up fast and the problem is you have to unplug every time to empty unless you carry trash container with you. Also clogs easy, check frequently.
submitted byPam - 7 years agoA: We would like to let you know that there is a dust cup on the main hand held part of the unit.

Q: I have only wood and tile floors so I DO NOT want or need a "beater bar". Can you tell me if this has a "beater bar". I don't see any information on that in the specs.
A: We would like to let you know that this unit does have a brushroll.
submitted byShark Support Team - 4 years agoBrand expertA: Yes it does have a beater bar with brisles. It can be turned off on the handle.
submitted bycarolh - 7 years agoA: Push the handle's one switch forward once for wood or tile and forward one more time for the brush roller bar. It's not necessary to ever engage the bar if you don't want to use it.

Q: In a previous response, someone from the "Shark Support Team" says the cord is 30 inches long- was that supposed to be feet? Thirty inches would be very difficult to vacuum work.
A: The cord is 30 FEET long.
submitted byMartha - 7 years agoA: It is 30 feet long and not 30 inches.
submitted byBetan - 7 years agoA: We would like to let you know that the cord length for this unit is 25 feet.
submitted byShark Support Team - 4 years agoBrand expert
Q: How long does it run before you have to charge it?
A: It is not cordless, it plugs in.
submitted byMaggie - 19 days agoA: This isn't a cordless vacuum. It plugs into the wall.

Q: does it fit under the bed
A: We would like to let you know that you can get under the edge of furniture with this vacuum, however, how far would depend on how high the furniture is from the floor.
submitted byShark Support Team - 9 months agoBrand expertA: Yes, the Shark Rocket Ultra-Light Corded Stick Vacuum should fit under a bed.

Q: Does this vaccum pick up cat liter?
A: Hello Lori, We are happy to confirm that the Shark® Rocket® Ultra-Light Upright can pick up dry, non-used cat litter. We hope this information helps. The Customer Support Team
submitted byShark Support Team - 6 years agoBrand expertA: It is NOT recommended to use the Shark Rocket on damp cat litter or Feces. Or any larger trash. If you can pick it up by hand , sweep or use damp towel rags, use a broom rag or paper towel to get obvious chunky dibris and save the deep cleaning for this delicate stick Vacumn. Maybe upgrade to removable piece to remove my long hair. Must treat it as tech to make it last.
