It works like the belt is broken. It picks up here and there..and moves it around. Save your money and put towards a vacuum that actually works!

submitted byXeno - 7 years agoA: I have had this for at least 3 yrs. I use it primarily for vacuuming linoleum, picking up cat litter and hair from low pile carpet, and it works GREAT! Very powerful little motor. When the container has a lot of cat hair and dust in it, I rinse the filter. I do that about once a week, and that really increases the suction. The only problem I had, was the handle almost cracked off near where the cord hook is. I taped it with some duct tape and have never had another problem. It's on sale now for half price and I'm going to buy one for back-up.

The directions say, "Do not take this back to the store." Hey, if it doesn't work it sure as heck is going back to the store. Thank you Target.

A: Mine cracked at that exact spot also, but not all the way through. I just used some duct tape to strengthen that area, and haven't had any more problems.

A: It absolutely does Not. What it does try to pick up immediately falls right back out onto the floor without actually getting sucked up, the second you try to push the vacuum across the floor.

A: It absolutely does Not pick it up off a tile floor for me. What it does attempt to pick up does not actually get sucked up and immediately falls back out of the vacuum head onto the floor when you push it back and forth.

The price is what you get. It works for minor cleaning, but not a good deep cleaning solution. The bristles consistently get hair caught and tangled, does not pick up pretzel crumbs, easily breaks.

We have a small apartment with hardwood floors and some rugs, no pets. When we first got it, it worked amazingly. But after the first two uses we noticed it wasn't really picking anything up anymore other than dust. Rollers don't work anymore despite thorough cleaning. Definitely time for us to get a new vacuum!

I think it does a good job at first, but stops having proper suction after a while. The attachment where the dirt went would fall off a lot, even in the middle of vacuuming.

Vacuum cleaner is constantly getting clogged up. I am spending way too much time touching the nasty brushes and clearing them of Gunk. We do not have a dirty home. There's no reason for there to be so much Muck-A-Muck stuck inside the machinery. The rollers stop rolling constantly. You have to cut it off. Wait a minute for them to go again. I am deeply disappointed in this as a tool for keeping fur under control. However, if you have no pets and low carpet, this might work for you... might.

This is just a terrible product. I would have returned it if I could. Here's what was lacking: Suction area is only 8" wide (advertised as 10"): Even with limited suction area, could not pull in anything more than dust on a single pass; Cord seemed too heavy-duty for the size of the vacuum; short cord limits the area you can clean before having to move to another receptacle; Cord exits the body directly underneath the cord wrap bracket; Combined with the heavy cord and bracket placement, it's almost impossible to wrap the cord up to store; NOISY! Using this on hardwood is ridiculous, and it's not from the vacuum-- it's the material used for the wheels. They create an unreal racket; Button to remove the body and use as a dust buster is so stiff, I can't budge it. In summary, this is a poorly designed product that doesn't function as advertised and was a total waste of money. The sad thing is, I really wanted to like it (it sounded like it was just what I needed!) and am super disappointed. It's my first Dirt Devil product. Will likely be the last.

Works alright for a little while. Had this less than a year and the handle broke off. Warranty would replace it, but I’d have to cut the cord and prove the unit is unusable before they will send one. At that point it would be almost two weeks before I receive the replacement. I have a parrot and cannot go even one week without vacuuming my floors. Not at all convenient when the company has to be aware of the fault in their product. Other reviews mention this issue. If I were you, I’d just not buy this. I had a similar unit from a different manufacturer that cost only $15 and lasted almost two years before I chose to get a new one because it was slowly losing suction. I wish I’d have just kept that one.
