A: We would like to let you know that this unit does have a self-cleaning brushroll. To keep hair off the brushroll, the self-cleaning brushroll has anti hair wrap strips that will constantly make contact with comb, creating a different tone from a traditional vacuum.

A: I have 3 long hair dogs and this does a really good job of keeping the hair from wrapping. The only times I’ve had to remove anything was a long string of thread or something that wrapped up and dog hair then got caught in that. I clean off the brush roll when I do the filters and it’s never much and usually I can just pull it, no scissors needed.

A: We would like to let you know that you can remove the foam and felt filter (located in the unit under the dust cup) to be able to wash the filters (with water only and allow to completely dry before putting back inthe unit). The brushroll is not a removeable part from the floor nozzle. To eaily remove hair and debris from the brushroll we recommend using scissors to cut any hair or strings to make easier to remove.

A: Yes, this particular model has a switch that lets you easily toggle between carpet and hard floor modes for optimal cleaning performance. The floor/carpet switch on the vacuum is called the Power/Surface Switch, and it's located on the top of the vacuum pod, near the handle. You use it to select the surface setting, either hard floor or carpet, and it activates the brushroll when you tilt the handle back firmly.

A: Yes, the Navigator Swivel Pro Pet is suitable for small rug areas. The unit features two settings for cleaning. For bare floors and delicate area rugs, you can slide the selector switch to setting I, and, by gently stepping on the floor nozzle and tilting the handle back, the brushroll will be activated and will spin slower. You can also slide the selector switch to setting II; the brushroll will spin faster in carpet mode and ensure the best cleaning performance.
