I have a new shark cordless stick vacuum which weighs 6 lbs (and feels almost like a Swiffer spray mop but more top heavier and I am having a hard time to get used to it but when I thought about it if you get one that has light weight feature they have to take out the weight somewhere so they must have to reduce the casing and keep the parts that make it do its job so I am starting to get used to it.

submitted byShark Support Team - 1 year agoBrand expertA: I am not sure how to explain it but the one I have which is one of the cordless stick vacuum but uses the same roller brush. It is larger in diameter and the actual brush parts are made to not keep the hair on it. I was surprised to see all of the hair in the dirt container and 2 hairs on the roll but laying sideways and would have gone right to canister if I had kept on vacuuming. I can't say I am thrilled at with the one just bought but every time I use it I like it more and has great battery time but I have but I have only heard good things about this one so I may return and get this one.

A: No it is not self-propelled but when I read the reviews a lot of people feel that it is very easy to push and once you get started it just flows. A lot of people also said it didn't hurt their backs when they use it (which is one of my requirements as I haven't been able to vacuum at all without my back putting me down for a few days) and I feel comfortable getting one.

A: The main difference between the LA401 and NV586 is the size. The LA401 has a 0.89 dry quart dust cup, 25 foot cord, and it weighs 13.5lbs. The NV586 has a 3.3 dry quart dust cup, 30 foot cord, and it weighs 15.6lbs.

I never write reviews for anything but after the time I’ve had with this machine from hades I felt the need to warn others. It’s marketed as being good with hair, right? True! Hair never got clogged. However, when your toddler makes a big flour mess everywhere AND you have a dog, the underside of the clear housing is going to get dirty. Well, take it off and clean it, right? No, first you need 3 different sizes of special security drill bits. After waiting for a week for Amazon, you need to find the hidden screws. We’re talking like 20 screws of different sizes, half of which are hidden and only found after watching YouTube videos. When they’re all out finally, and you pull the housing, the plastic snaps in half. There are little tabs internally that are hidden from view that must be pulled at exactly the right angle or they break, fully bricking the machine. Waste of time, money, and energy.

This has been a horrible online shopping experience. Member services have no clue how to resolve an issue. Three phone calls multiple times on hold or given another phone number,. Then I was told it had to return to the manufacture. Number given, I call they just about laughed in my face. So now a spent $200 on something I never received and get return the incorrect model they sent. 😡😡

I had old shark vacuum (the orange stick one) and was SO excited to upgrade to the bigger filter. I feel like this cleans SO well. I love this vacuum. I’ve only had it about 2 months but the suction is still great and easy to clean. Not to mention the maroon color is so pretty.

For the kitty owners with hard floors — this is for you. Do you have battle scars on your ankles from little kitty litters flinging out of your vacuum cleaner? Not one single piece of kitty litter flings with this. The vacuum itself is kind of loud but it doesn’t sound like you are vacuuming up metal nails when you vacuum litter either. Pet hair is sucked up, dirt, dander, everything. I have a Dyson V7 animal and while I do love that vacuum for different reasons as well, this Shark is THE ONE for all over. Cons? It’s loud, heavy, has a cord, and it’s hard to vacuum under things without moving them. With that, it’s more powerful though and doesn’t have a shut off after 30 mins because the battery died. It also worked very well on hard floors, carpet, and little area rugs.

Love how easy this vacuum is to switch between upright and hose modes. Does a great job with dog hair and works very well on my carpet and hardwood. A few of us in the family have this vacuum now and all love it. I also really like the under the furniture attachment you can get from shark.

This is the 2nd of the exact same vacuum I’ve purchased from Target. I’ve had this one just over a year and it is making a screaming noise. So I purchased a replacement belt, the specialty tools for the screws and it still is IMPOSSIBLE to open without for sure snapping the plastic. There is no way I will ever buy a Shark product again. 2 Shark vacuums in 2 years and many other products from Shark I am less than impressed with. I will be buying a new vacuum.. not a Shark and not from Target.

I've owned my last Shark Vacum for the last 11 years. And it worked great, except the brush rollers. I was always cutting off twisted caught up loose hair, threads and such. But now with my upgrade Shark fins, all I do is empty the canistar! YEEAAH!! Not to mention it's a Super Sucker Upper of Dirt! AWESOME.

I'm currently a college freshman and I personally don't like those little Bissell stick brooms that most people use because they have short cords, bad filtration, no suction, they're loud, and they're quite nasty when it comes to the cleanup process. This vacuum is a life saver for these floors and my rug. I was even able to clean in the crevices.
