Q: Is the vacuum self-propelling or difficult to push/manuever?

A: It’s not self propelled but as strong as the suction is I swear it pulls itself across the floor.

A: It's not necessary, if any hair is wrapped around the brush roll, continue vacuuming, using Carpet/Low Pile mode on a bare floor surface, a low-pile carpet, or a small area rug. This will allow the self-cleaning brush roll to remove the hair wrap and send it to the dust cup.

Purchased this vacuum 11/23. Absolutely loved it up until about 3 days ago, 1/19. The vacuum is designed for pet hair, but the brush roll is not removable. I have 3 long haired dogs and their hair has made it into the ends of the brush roll and wrapped around so tightly that the brushroll isn’t able to spin anymore, but because it’s not removable, it’s also not fixable. I was able to have customer service send me a new part for free this time (it’s a $95 replacement after this) but it’s an issue that’s going to just keep happening. HORRIBLE design for a vacuum that’s designed for pet households. Unfortunately I foresee myself having to purchase another new vacuum soon

Bought this vacuum 6 months ago, we have a husky, labrador and a Saint Bernard. They are regularly taken to the groomer and we also have a FurMe professional grooming vacuum set to manage the hair daily. (BEST PURCHASE EVER) It’s safe to say we take care of our dogs and their hair but of course, we stillllll have hair on the carpets, hardwood floors and rugs. Nothing crazy but with daily vacuuming this has started to die after 6 months. It’s leaving hair all over the carpets and will not pick the hair up anymore, just moves it around. I keep the filters replaced, cleaned and everything nice but idk. Seems like a total waste of 500, I fully expect my dogs hair to kill vacuums, but they’ve always lasted at least 2 years. :(

I absolutely love shark vacuum's but this particular model has to many cons.. very heavy.. if you choose to lift away there is not enough hose to do it effectively or comfortably. It's just not shark quality.. but I will not recommend any other brand..

I have used this vacuum four times since purchasing and it has worked very well. The suction is very powerful and it works well on hard floors, carpet and rugs. The powered feature makes moving the vacuum very easy and it is well done so that it does not feel like it is trying to pull out of your hand. The pet tool works great! I did not notice that this model does not have a light in the handle so when you remove the handle there is no light shining to see what you are doing in crevices that you might be reaching into. I am a little disappointed with the loss of that feature from my previous vacuum but that is my fault for not noticing. The suction is very strong so it may pull your rugs around. My previous vacuum was a Shark Apex and this model is one step below that one in my opinion but it is still an excellent vacuum and I would recommend it to anyone. I have and will continue to recommend Shark vacuums overall to everyone!

Bought less than 1 year ago. Rollers jammed with pet hair and stopped moving and indicator light stayed red. No way to access the second roller when pet hair wraps around where it connects to vacuum. I would not recommend this vacuum if you have pets it sucks!

I've had Shark vacuums for many years now. This one is excellent! Love that roller doesn't get swamped by hair or wool rug fabric. Excellent suction as well, better than my past vacuums. The dirt dump is most improved too. Easy and simple. Only thing I wish this one had was a air diverter when using the suction hose. This would help to not have to much air when trying to be gentle. All around this is a great vacuum!

I am a Shark girl thru & thru. I’m obsessed with vacuums, I take amazing care of my vacuums, & with 4 boys, 2 dogs & 3 cats, I truly depend on my vaccuums. The Stratos is my fifth Shark vacuum. How disappointed I am. As I was with the green Rotater. But the stratos was expensive. 1) I think it’s so wack that all the attachments are different size then the previous shark vacuums. Make your product attachments universal dude. And 2) the suction isn’t anything compared to my MUCH OLDER white shark rotator professional. And does the deodorizer even do anything? Just so disappointed. Save your money. Maybe the shark detect will be better. Hopefully not a whole new different attachment size then the previous two. Cuz all these attachments are going to need their own room. I’ve never done this review thing before but I’m so bummed out. Yes, I could prob send it back but it was a gift from my husband.

I purchased this vacuum 15 months ago to replace a Rotator which had worn out. I swear by Shark vacuums so I purchased the Stratos as an upgrade. What a mistake!! I totally disliked this vacuum from the beginning, from the weight of it, to the awkwardness at steering, but most of all, for the terrible way it performed. After 15 months of denial that this was the worst vacuum I ever used, I threw it in the trash. I hope it is out of stock because Shark is going to take it off the market. Very disappointed in this Shark product.

A good upright/canister vacuum! Love the versatility. It's an upright, or it's a canister vacuum. The ease of emptying and being able to rent the filters is nice. The only negative is there's not enough room on the vacuum for all the attachments.

I was excited to get this vacuum for my wife. Unfortunately we received a used vacuum with missing packaging and a missing part. Apparently someone returned this unit to the Target distribution center and then just reshipped it to me. Also, because my wife was sick and did not open the box until months after the purchase we are unable to return this to the store. Very disappointed.

Good vacuum so far. Very smooth rolling. A few things I am not a fan of include: -no light on the handle when you detach it from the upright portion. My old shark has this light and it is great to see the dirt when doing detailed work. Since this one does not have that, it is quite disappointing. I expected this to be an upgrade because it is a newer version, but it's really lacking on that part. Now I have to carry around a flashlight to be able to see. - The beater brush seems to always be on no matter if you select hardwood floors or carpet. I'm afraid of damaging the floors now. Not sure if this is how it's supposed to be or not. - The removable handle has to really be clicked into place for it to stay in the upright portion. Often I hear a click and think it's attached, then go to move the vacuum by the handle and it just pops out. All in all I expected these little things to be better compared to my old vacuum, but it almost feels like I downgraded without the detail components.
