I was a skeptic as I have long curly hair and we also have a Great Pyrenees, but I haven’t had to clean the brush roll once yet and have been using it 1-2x times a week for over two months.     After doing good at 1st it isn't working like it s

    When I 1st got it it seemed to work well. Now I have to keep emptying the small cup often because it doesn't get my cat and dog hairs. And I keep cleaning the filters after every use. My other lift away has a bigger collection cup and picks the hair up on the 1st pass. Prefer the left away. Mad I spent the money on this one when it has left me down. And saying it gets pet hair you would think it would have a bigger collection cup.

    Long time Sharp customer

    Long time Sharp vacuum user. No other company has this level of suction power. There is however a few features that are not our favorite. The electronic motor has a delay that before you can start sweeping. The quality of the material is honestly disappointing. After a few weeks of use we can feel the connection between the wand and the sweeper head is starting to wear. The worst item of this model is the quality of the electric cord. At this price point one would think the cord would be more flexible.

    Best money I’ve ever soent

    In 15 years I’ve owned two shark vaccuns. I have my daughter my first one when she moved out. I bought this one and it’s even better than the first. I have two cats and this picks up their fur amazingly well. My daughters just quit working as it’s pretty old. I am going to recommend this one for her.

    I don’t normally take the time to write reviews but this vacuum is amazing!! We have pets and very thick carpet & it’s not a problem for this vacuum. No issues so far. I am very pleased!

    Not built for area rugs

    I bought this to replace my Shark Navigator. I like the detect system, but it does not register well from hardwood to rugs. With the roller on the rugs, you cant pull backwards, it jams up and the vacuum stops. My Navigator I was able to flip to plush carpet and could do the rugs, even by switching to plush, this vacuum cant do rugs, the roller jams and you have to shut off and restart. I do have plush carpet in the basement, and it does fine, just seems to have issues with area rugs. I have a long coat dog so I wanted something that wasnt going to tangle and plug while using.

    AMAZING

    This thing has suction like no other. I was so disgusted the first time I vacuumed only part of my home. I vacuum all the time but when I used the shark detect, it pulled up SO MUCH dirt. My carpet even looks like it was cleaned. Amazing!

    My son got me the power detect upright this has been the Best vacum. It is self propelled Excellent suction power you can see it sucking the dirt to it. Wow itz awesome my son got one for himself as well thhat his 4 yr old daughter uses. We are a Shark family i do rsccomend the scent pod is excellent and i like that you can switch power from carpet to hardwoods. Keep up the excellent work. I just seen the new shark transformer trio gosh now im gonna have to trade up and get one of them. Gotta have it. Only the Best at picking up hair and not cling to roller great edge suction the dirt just bounces right to it and if theirs dirt it detects it and kicks in high gear and once its got it all you can hear motor slow down i love it and very light weight. My back is broke and i still can use my shark.

    Short hose for attachments

    I love this vacuum but for one thing. When you detach the hose to use the tools and clean above floor, the hose is very short. When you quickly reach the limits, the whole unit tips over. Dust in the collection cup gets stirred up and sucked into the filter. This would all be correctable if Shark made an extension to the hose as an accessory. They do not. They should IMHO.

    Don't waste your money!

    Most miserable vacuum cleaner ever. Don't waste your money. I had a Dyson for years but when we had a smoke incident in our house last fall and I needed a vac quickly and I couldn't find another Dyson I purchased this Shark. Let me tell you what I believe are poor design issues: 1) Very heavy to carry and to push. 2) Hose isn't long enough so when you need to vacuum using the hose and an attachment the vacuum repeatedly falls over. So now I have to try and balance the vac with my foot while vacuuming. 3) It's dangerous. I was vacuuming under the bed and vac fell over and hit me in the head. The hard plastic on the vac really hurt. Keep kids and pets away. 4) When you're using the hose to vacuum the touch choices to select different carpet/floors are in the way and you'll accidentally keep changing the type of flooring. 5) You have to keep cleaning the sensors or the vacuum will keep changing the selection of the type of flooring because it can't sense correctly. 6)Dirt cannister is on the front so you can't vacuum under anything. I'm sorry for straying Dyson. One day I hope to be able to return to you!

    Great suction, but changed some features.

    This is the third Shark vacuum that I have owned, and I have to say, I’m disappointed in this newest design. The biggest issue is that you can’t separate the canister from the stick. That was always the best feature so you could get under furniture. Now you have to separate the stick from the canister and use a floor attachment, which doesn’t come with the machine. Another thing they changed was they shortened the electrical cord by about 5 feet. My old Shark I could clean my entire house using 3 outlets, now it takes 5. It still has the same great suction, but to change some of the best features, I don’t know if I would buy another one.

    Are you kidding me?

    I had an expensive Dyson vacuum cleaner that I felt like just wasn’t getting the dog hair up well enough. So I took a leap and bought this Shark AZ 4000. I am so disgusted that people were in my house with all that dog hair in my carpet when I thought it was clean! I vacuumed the same carpet seven times over the course of the last two days and I’m still getting old dog hair out of it. If you have a dog you need this vacuum. I’m ordering one for all of my children!

    Don't buy it

    item is awful. power detect always reverts to another option on its own, smells, you can't find the replacement filters and odor neutralizer cartridge, they are always out of stock. I have to turn it off and back on to revert settings to start back to a powerful suction. I've had this product for 1 year now and it was not worth the $500 I spent on it.

    WOW!

    I bought this brand and model after doing lots of research, as I have 4 dogs and want to get my carpets and furniture super clean. I just received mine and used it. Let me say, WOW! The power on this thing is AMAZING! I vacuumed half my carpet with my Dyson and the other with this and its amazing how much more it pulled up! I then went over the other half and pulled up more. Its already trying to fluff up the carpet thats matted. I already love this vacuum so much! I won't buy a different brand after using this one.

    I’ve had better

    I was hoping this would be better than the reviews, but I had to find out for myself. It keeps powering down when it thinks it’s clean. Believe me, it’s not clean. I could fill the container with pet hair multiple times going over the same areas in an hour with my last Shark. Tools keep falling off the storage pegs. Cord is stiff and a pain to deal with. Dirt receptacle is small. IMO, not worth the price. I’ve had better.

    This thing is clunky, ruined our rugs, the "self cleaning" roller gets clogged all the time I can't vacuum my washable large area rug with it because its too thin and tries to vacuum it up. its ruined all the edges and corners of my rugs. its so heavy to do stairs with.the self roller clogs all the time with my hair and mt dogs hair.. at least I can see it clogged cuz all the hair sticks out. and this is the most expensive vacuum by far I have bought from shark.. so disappointed..

    Perfect vacuum

    I’ve had this vacuum for a little over a year now and out of the 3 vacuums I have had before, this one is by FAR the BEST. I love the accessories, I’ve never had any mechanical issues, it picks up dust, dirt, hair, cat litter, etc. SO WELL. I’ve never gotten any hair tangled in the brush roll and the first brush roll is so easy to take out and clean around that area.
