A: This vacuum and the anti hair tangling brushroll has worked amazingly for our home! I was a skeptic as I have long curly hair and we also have a Great Pyrenees, but I haven’t had to clean the brush roll once yet and have been using it 1-2x times a week for over two months. Every other vacuum I’ve used I’ve had to clean the clogged brush roll every other use.

I bought this vacuum a couple months ago I love the way it sucks everything. Can not go over rugs tho because the suction is too strong. Unfortunately, my cord is already coming apart. I dont know what that is about and am extremely bummed as this is the first vacuum I really splurged on and I've loved it otherwise

Excellent suction
The suction on this vacuum is amazing. I replaced my very old upright because I wanted a detachable dust tank for vacuuming the steps as I am getting too old to try to balance the old upright on a step while vacuuming at the same time. The old vacuum had a dirt sensor just as this one does. I vacuumed a swath with my old vacuum until the dirt detector went to "green" i.e. no more dirt. The Shark pulled so much dog hair from that same swath I was simply amazed. The maneuverability of the swivel head is fabulous, and the vacuum almost feels like it is self propelled. The only negative I would comment on is to get some of the hair out of the dust canister I had to use the want that came with my carpet cleaner to get out, otherwise I would have had to reach my hand up to pull hair at the top of the canister.

I couldn't imagine you'd want or need a vacuum with any more power. Overall, I'm pleased with it so far. If I had to nitpick, I'd say the delay in turning it on and off is a bit awkward. You push the button and think, "Is it on?" then it comes on. You have to fight the urge to push it again. And the touch buttons that select the different modes are too sensitive. you accidentally hit them a lot. I preferred the slider that was on my Shark Apex. The sensors that do all the detection are nice but I question if they will last but I can't hold that against them. Time will tell

Too many bad reviews
I was planning to buy it, but too many negative reviews. It is ironic that some poor reviews got response from the company, still not addressing the problems raised to satisfy those customers to update their reviews. Meanwhile marketing keep pushing sales.

Fire hazard
If I could give negative stars I would vacuum worked good for about 4 months then one day I started vacuuming and the vacuum started to flame this is the third one they have sent me similar issue with all 3

The best vacuum I've used. Couldn't believe how much debris it pulled out of my carpet AFTER I had just used my old vacuum first. This vacuum pulled out the same amount of debris that they show on TV. There were some extra parts I couldn't afford at the time of purchase that I wish I could get now. Don't waste your money on lesser vacuums, Purchase the SHARK POWER DUO DETECT VACUUM. It is the best I've ever used.

BRING BACK THE ZU620 - best shark vacuum
Too heavy!!!! BEST SHARK Powered Lift-away VACUUM IS THE ZU620!!! A lot more lightweight than so many of the Shark vacuums cleaners: NV752, NV586, AZ3000. Shark get it together we want a POWERED LIFT-AWAY that is lightweight not heavy and bulky… I do love the more suction on this vacuum and light on the wand.. Also, the detect ability is nice, when it detects correctly but the manual suction control nozzle is better on the ZU620!!! BRING BACK THE ZU620 and add the light to the wand!!! Thank you!!!

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE.
Ordered online and it was not packaged properly. No shipping box, just a single box with the vacuum inside. The box was torn, banged up, and opened. For the price of the vacuum, I’d expect they at LEAST package it correctly and probably to protect such an expensive product. I ended up returning it, I really wanted the vacuum too but the vacuum probably got damaged after the horrible shipping process it went through.

It sucks - in the best way.
I first bought the Shark Stain Striker Pet and after seeing how much pet hair it pulled up AFTER I had vacuumed with my Dyson, I knew I needed to upgrade. This was worth every penny. Color me impressed. You can feel the suction in the way it grabs on the carpet when vacuuming. It’s easy to maneuver, easy to empty, and I am low-key grossed out by what it pulled out of my “clean” carpets. I’ve already recommended it to friends.

Heavy!
This is a VERY powerful vacuum BUT, it is VERY HEAVY and hard to push! I have called shark and they tell me “that’s just the way it is!” There is no problem with the suction it will easily suck up your area rugs or anything else in its way! I have never seen such a powerful suction and that is why I wanted this vacuum. With the dirt detector it can find any minuscule piece of dirt,lint, pet hair etc. Only draw back is how hard it is to push and how heavy, you can change the settings but, as you are vacuuming they will change back and forth and they. Maybe make it a tad easier but, not by much! This vacuum is not good for seniors or people with bad shoulders or a bad knee because, of its heaviness plus, being so hard to push! That being said if you want a vacuum that’s a workhorse this is definitely it!

Great for 8 Pets
Shark PowerDetect Review I’ve had this vacuum for 7 months now and I’m going to give it an honest review after regular use. I have 8 animals: 2 dogs and 6 cats, my big dog is a German shepherd mix and sheds a lot. Prior to this vacuum I had a Shark Navigator LiftAway for 7 years and I LOVED it, it still works but little pieces were breaking down on it so it was time to replace it. Because I loved my previous vacuum the PowerDetect had a lot to live up to. The pros: >Amazing suction >Really good at getting pet hair out of carpet >Great for corners and along edges >Easy empty canister >Great for hard floors and carpet >Easy to clean filters >Power button on handle >5 year warranty The cons: >Pet hair gets clogged up in the soft roller so we have to remember to clean it out regularly or it will eventually burn up the motor. It is easy to pop out though. >The hose on this vacuum is either shorter or more stiff so it’s not as easy to stretch for high up spaces. >The suction is too powerful on all settings for some runner rugs and when using as a lift away it can seem like you’re fighting to keep control on carpet. >The surface selection buttons are easy to accidentally change while vacuuming and the vacuum has to be turned off and back on to get back to “detect” mode. >This vacuum is noticeably heavier than my last, but I was aware when I purchased it. All around it’s a good vacuum, especially for people with pets. There are a few details I would change, personally, but they are compromises I’m willing to make for a good vacuum.

This is a very heavy machine. I was not satisfied with it so I returned it. I'm still waiting on my refund! I would not recommend buying from the website.
