A: This vacuum and the anti hair tangling brushroll has worked amazingly for our home! I was a skeptic as I have long curly hair and we also have a Great Pyrenees, but I haven’t had to clean the brush roll once yet and have been using it 1-2x times a week for over two months. Every other vacuum I’ve used I’ve had to clean the clogged brush roll every other use.

A: To clean tangled hair from the rollers, detach the nozzle by pressing the Powered Lift-Away button on top of the dust cup handle. Remove the wand from the nozzle and place the nozzle bottom-up on a flat surface. Carefully cut away any hair or debris from the brushroll using scissors. Once clean, reattach the wand to the nozzle and slide the pod back onto the wand until it clicks into place.

Hate this vacuum. These reviews have got to be filtered because this vacuum is awful. Every time it gets stuck on a rug it turns red and you have to re power. The extension is terrible and barely stretches, it keeps dropping the whole vacuum. So last time it fell I just kicked it. Hate it so much, complete waste of money. Pay the extra and get the Dyson.

My biggest issue: The hose is far too short and will not allow more than a few feet of reach. Without purchasing a generic hose extension, you will have to heave the whole unit up on to your couch and stretch to clean behind it for instance. Second pain point is the cord. I was on the fence about cordless and figured this unit would be a good compromise... not exactly. The odor protect cartridge loses smell in day. It may be trapping odor unbeknownst to me but there is no fresh scent anymore. The front lights are a big plus! However, I find myself constantly changing the smart touch floor setting located on the handle by accident. The suction is also average - good not gret. The dust canister is pretty awesome... A tissue was sucked up but didn't make it past the first chamber. Also, it is quieter than most vacuums i have heard. The added attachments are pretty great in concept but most are SERIOUSLY awkward to use even the ones with adjustable angles. Again, the hose is so restrictive you need to buy an extension to try and use anything effectively in that regard. Lastly, it is not made in the USA which was one of the biggest selling points to me. Every box is stamped MADE IN CHINA. I know now that my next vacuum purchase will not be a shark.

Bought this in November, May 30th, and it stopped working. One sign we had an issue, I was vacuuming and it shut off. Figuring i had unplugged it, i went back to outlet no problem. Touched the cord near the Vac but the outlet and it came back on. The next time i went to use it, plugged it in and it won't turn on. It's not even a year old! Horrible i can't get help with this 😔

I want to love this vacuum so much because the suction power is incredible. If I had carpet in my house this would be my go to. But I have no carpet and only rugs. Im only able to vacuum my large area rug with it, any small rugs get sucked up whether it's on detect or i manually change it, the suction power is still too strong. Again not a terrible problem to have, but I have to keep a smaller back up vacuum to vacuum those rugs. It does seem to be extremely heavy, but I have had a shark stick vacuum that lasted me 10 years so im used to lighter weight. The power detect takes some getting used to, it's slightly annoying how often it changes. The hose is not very long so that's a bit of an issue and makes it awkward to use. And then lastly the attachments constantly fall from their holding place on the vacuum. So overall if you have a lot of carpet i would definitely not hesitate to get this one!

I run my own cleaning business and while this vacuum has amazing suction like all shark vacuum (they’re the only vacuums I ever use or buy for work and home) it really is more of a hassle. First, whoever thought it would be smart to put the power button on the handle was WRONG! I have turned it off at least 20 times today at work or hit the different setting buttons accidentally because they’re right on the handle. Second, the hose is soooo short and has no reach without tipping the whole vacuum over when trying to use attachments. Third, I was using the powered lift away option and the vacuum just shut down and wouldn’t turn back on for 5 min. I even tried different plugs thinking the power to the outlet was the issue because the vacuum is brand new and it’s my first day using it I couldn’t believe it just died out on me. Lastly, it’s a lot heavier than the other lift aways and I honestly prefer the less expensive ones that are a bit lighter, have longer hoses, and the power button in a smart place! It’s too bad, I really wanted to love this vacuum since my son purchased it for me for Mother’s Day and spent a lot of money but I’m honestly a bit disappointed in the overall function of this vacuum. So much so that I’m writing this in the middle of my work day while taking a quick break!

I've had this vacuum for a little over a month, and I could not be more pleased! I got a great deal that included many attachments in addition to a free steam mop. The vacuum has many features that I love, but I especially appreciate the light that allows me to actually see how clean my hardwood floors are getting as I vacuum. The detachable wand for attachments even has a light! The cleaning power on hard surfaces as well as carpet is amazing. I've kicked my old Dyson to the curb with no regrets!

I ordered this almost a week ago and still do not have the item when Target says order within the next 5 hours get next day deilvery. I placed the order on a Friday and after check out it said it will arrive by Sunday. Nothing Saturday. Waited all day Sunday and tracking said it went by my area and then ended up in another state. Target Customer service was a joke and would not help me out. I called my old driver up at Fedex now higher up and had him look into this. He said someone really messed this up and rerouted back to me. He said it will take another day or two. Glad I never supported Target or shop at this joke of a company. I will never do it again. They are rude and do not care you are just another number. No idea how the product is. I still do not have it.

I HATE this vacuum....I always buy and recommend Sharks, think they are much better than Dysons (and I have dogs).....this vacuum sucks up well, but is horrible to use.....super heavy......cord is always twisting/tangling.....I spend more time 'readjusting' the settings after it adjusts/detects to what it wants (what it 'detects' is incorrect).....I am taking time off from vacuuming to write this review because I am havng a miserable cleaning experience yet again....I clearly would not recommend and am going to have to purchase yet another vacuum......

Bought couple months ago based on reviews. Had Dyson before . Suction is great. But way too heavy. Plus when you rake wand out tips over very easy. Also, auto detect does not do well on thin area rugs. Tried all settings on a ruggable and it way too hard to push. Not at all the vacuum I expected.

The vacuum works great for the most part. suctions well. however, i bought this less than a year ago and am sad to see it decline in quality so quickly. i use this everyday as i have used my other shark vacuums everyday as well. this one however has been such poorly made… the cord is ripping in three spots after under a year of use. i already had to replace the dust cup because the latch to release the dirt, broke. now the cord is ripping and the rubber seal to the detachable handle has come off a bit and was catching dog hair and clogging the hose… thoroughly disappointed in this model. i’ve had 3 shark vacuums before this and was able to get at least 2yrs out of each!!! also, i’ve never received my steam mop.

BEWARE! HIGHLY PERFUMED! I thought the odor neutralizer would be like baking soda, but it is very heavily fake scented, and you must use it for the vacuum cleaner to work. Even if you take it out, the unit is still very perfuming and lingers. Opening the package, put me into an ASTHMA COUGHING AND HEADACHE DAY! If you are sensitive to fragrance, do not buy this !

Bought this the end of January. Because of a surgery, I was unable to use it for a month. Since then I have used it 4 times. I find this vacuum very heavy, tips easily when using just the wand, and the hose is way too short to reach higher areas. I am old school so getting comfortable to the changes in suction power is difficult for me. I do appreciate the lights on the handle and base, does well on bare floors, but generally not happy with this one…I have purchased 3 other shark vacuums over 20 + years (have many pets - dog, cats, and birds) and still like the original purple one ( long gone). I would return this for something easier and lighter, but I believe I missed the deadline. Probably will gift it to my daughter…. Do like some of the extra tools…

Just bought cuz my Dyson finally died. I really wanted to luv this. It has great suction and a plus on the lights. But it’s such a hassle to pull out canister to vacuum stairs. I have 3 sets of stairs and it’s terrible. Then putting canister back, forget it. Having to lug it around, I’m over this. Can’t even return cuz I already shredded box. Too bad cuz it did seem to be good vacuum but certainly more of a hassle than what it’s worth!!

I own a lot of shark products, I really like this brand. I purchased this vacuum last year and the first thing I noticed was the suction power! This thing is a BEAST at picking up pet hair, dander and tiny particles of dirt! I have wood floors and I have rugs. Shag rugs. So obviously they are a pain to clean and with two frechies, there’s a level of acceptance when it comes to how clean I can get- well, anything. TO MY SURPRISE, the vacuum works on my rugs. I have to go a little fast so it doesn’t catch BUT IT PULLS SO MUCH STUFF OUT OF THERE. Truly, my only complaint, is that the CORD is so stiff! It catches on EVERYTHING, including itself and pulls itself out of the outlet. It’s so frustrating! I’ve never had any cord like this before and I absolutely HATE it. Also, the placement of the cord “storage” is on the side, which can prevent the ability to get into and around tighter spaces. The other thing that can be a little frustrating is the sensor. Sometimes it just, doesn’t. Then you gotta stop and wipe it before you can start again. It’s not that big of a deal, but it does make the whole cleaning process longer. And nobody wants that!

The first unit did not work properly, I contacted Shark CS and they sent me a replacement vacuum. I have had it about a week now it appears to be working correctly. Time will tell.

We've had this vacuum for a couple months now. We have been loyal Dyson customers for fifteen years. Was tired of the Dyson collecting hair on the roller ball and smelling. The Dyson was horrible to take apart and clean. This Shark has amazing suction, great accessories, the scent feature is amazing, and hair doesn't collect on the bar!!!!!!
