Q: Why does the tangle free brush roll no longer roll when applied to a rug or the couch? It was previously spinning and nothing is happening now.

A: If the Tangle-Free Brush Roll on your CleanView Max Lift-Off vacuum (model 3988) has stopped spinning on rugs or upholstery, here are a few things to check: Brush Roll Switch – Make sure the brush roll is turned on if your model has a separate switch. Lift-Off Mode – If you're using the Lift-Off pod, the brush roll may not spin unless it's in floor mode. Obstructions or Debris – Check for any tangled hair or debris around the brush roll that could be blocking movement. Auto Shut-Off – The brush roll may stop if the vacuum senses resistance or overheating. If none of these help, we recommend contacting BISSELL Consumer Care at 1-800-237-7691 for further troubleshooting.

It’s designed with strong, consistent suction, but you can control airflow by using different tools or adjusting the height setting for various floor types. A: Thanks for your question, Donna! Some BISSELL vacuums do have headlights to help illuminate cleaning paths, especially on hard floors or under furniture. However, the CleanView Max Lift-Off Vacuum Cleaner does not appear to include built-in lights. The MultiClean Allergen Pet Rewind Upright Vacuum (model 3409) features LED headlights to help you spot dirt and pet hair in hard-to-see areas. Hope this helps!

VAC picks up well. Smaller brush VAC for awareness for large carpeted areas. It is heavy to push! Surprised by that. For a smaller look VAC. It is not lightweight. My shoulder actually protested the first time. So if you have shoulder issues this is not the VAC for you. Otherwise a good VAC. Left nice vacuum marks. And lift away was easy.

I didn't expect much from this vacuum since it is fairly inexpensive. It is pretty awesome. It's sturdy, it has great suction, it's light and easy to maneuver. One of my favorite feature is that I can see how much dust I sucked up during my cleaning

100% worth it. Let me preface by stating I vacuum at least once daily if not more, as a mom of three and previously home to three animals. This vacuum replaced a 10 year old+ Dyson pet vacuum, and all I can say after the initial use was EW. I’m appalled by everything that was being left behind. This thing is STRONG. It’s lightweight, easy to move around and powerful. I will say though, I do agree with other reviews stating the hose isn’t long enough, along with the cord- I wish it had a longer cord. Also the sturdiness of the vacuum base while using the hose could be better. It does topple over frequently. I don’t use the turbo attachment often because the bristles don’t spin easily. Regardless of all of that, I would absolutely recommend and will continue to be in awe by the power this appliance carries.

Don't buy this!! I bought it this morning and I already returned it, on first use it was making a horrible screeching sound and smelled like burnt rubber. I cleaned each part of it multiple times, but it seems like the motor was defective or something.

Purchased when Hoover vacuum quit working. Bissell vacuum is similar design to the Hoover. My home has bare floors, area rugs and carpeting. The old vacuum had a light which was beneficial to see dog hair and other debris. The Bissell has strong suction and picked up a lot. It would be better with a light.

Loved this vacuum I’ve only used it twice now but I have 2 cats and it sucked up more hair from my carpet than other vacuums I’ve had. Just know because of the suction you do have to put slight effort into moving it but nothing as crazy as some reviews made it seem like when they said it made vacuuming a workout

It picked up a ton instantly that our robot wasn’t picking up with daily runs. It is on the heavy side so I could see it being hard for older people to use. Great value for the price. We had a cheaper Bissell last year and this seems to be a step up in overall quality.

It seemed powerful and really did a good job at picking up dust and allergens. But a week after we purchased it we ran over the cord and it stripped it almost bare, which was impressive for its power but scary. Fortunately we were able to take it back but avoid running over the cord- which we try to do but sometimes happens.

I just moved into a new place less than a week ago and we haven’t been wearing our shoes in the house like we usually do so I wasn’t expecting to pick up much but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how much it picked up just from the staircase.. we vacuumed 2 out of 3 rooms and the staircase and this is how much it picked up. Most of it is from the staircase. I almost went with a similar model that is around $107 but I’m very glad I ended up getting this one. I definitely recommend it has a little weight to it but that expected since its.. a vacuum lol. Overall easy to switch from handheld and back, considering how much some vacuums can be nowadays this is definitely worth it.

The only positive is above average suctioning. Just about everything else is awful. It's clunky and heavy and extremely difficult to push on plush carpet. It constantly returns to the upright position in the middle of vacuuming, the slightest move causes that. As a result, I'm constantly having to stop and press down with my foot to lower it. I especially wanted to vacuum the staircase between my first and second floors. Every time I lifted the vacuum cleaner from one step to the next, it went into the upright position and I had to depress it with my foot again. That just about tripled the amount of time it took to vacuum the staircase. The brush attachment is way too short. I wanted to vacuum some mini-blinds that are a magnet for dust. The brush attachment reaches only the very bottom of the blinds. Does Bissell expect customers to lift this heavy, clunky vacuum cleaner above their heads with one arm and vacuum with their other? I really tried to give this vacuum cleaner a chance, in part because repacking it into the box to return it would be a pain. But the design is so poor I expect to return it. Bissell, what were you thinking when you designed this vacuum cleaner?

This vacuum has very good suction right out of the box. But it's quite heavy and difficult to push especially on plush carpet. I had to push it with two hands and put my back into it. One room was all I could do at a time before needing a break. Haven't tried the wand yet. I'm still recovering.

I don’t ever leave a review but I dislike this vacuum so much I wanted to give my opinion. Way too cheap awkward and clunky for the price. The suction is the only thing that seems decent. I never knew that cord placement would bother me but I’m right handed and it being on the right is always in my way. Having to move the handle to my left hand constantly to move the cord with my right over and over is driving me nuts. I just can’t stand it! So there you have it.
