Great for hardflooring not for rugs
This vacuum has done great for my hard flooring! It has strong suction picks up everything I expect it to, including small dust like particles. My only complaint is that it does not work well for my rugs. The suction is too strong and ends up, sucking up the rug to a point where the vacuum stops running. I don’t typically use this on my carpeted areas however, the few times I have it operates just fine.

So far...I like it!
Several years ago I purchased a Dyson and felt it cleaned well. However, it conked out after only a couple of years. No more Dysons. I've been using an inexpensive knock off and knew it wasn't really doing a very good job so did some research and opted for the Shark Vertex. I haven't had this very long but Wow...the suction is awesome but it's rather disgusting how much it's sucked up from the carpets. It's heavier than I'm used to and I'm still getting used to it's features but so far I'm very pleased with it.

Not working Properly
We have only had this vacuum for one year and have already been having issues with it. The vacuum will not turn off/ on. When the vacuum is running and I try to turn it off, it will stay running until I remove the battery. When off and I try to turn on, it lags and will not turn on. Overall it is not working properly. For this price, the vacuum should have lasted a lot longer than a year.

very poor
mine is very weak, i need to have my finger pressed down on the 'high speed' all the time, despite cleaning filters . it also broke after a year. the cheap, junk plastic part of the head that attaches the motor to the trap snapped.

I wouldn't purchase
Battery does not last 60 minutes!! Unless you are pulling the little lever- the suction does not work. Unfortunately that will drain the battery quicker. Just not worth it…you’ll be better off finding another vacuum.

Great for a minute
The first time I used it mostly on Boost and it was incredible I was wearing out the battery as instructed in the book It is truly a great one day vacuum Problem with warranty was when day two I tried using the vacuum and the power head was defective To get a new powerhead I would have to pay for it per the warranty So Shark did the right thing at least and refunded me full purchase price

Shark cordless Vertex flex Duoclean
I've had this product for about a month now. I am so disappointed. I normally love Shark products. I have had the ionflex duoclean for about 3 years. Absolutely love it. I can no longer find it. After researching and reading reviews, I went for the Vertex flex, duoclean. Absolutely nothing like the ionflex duoclean. This vacuum performs OK on carpets. Hard floors is a different story. Really does not clean hardwood or tile. Has nothing to get the edges. Overall has a cheap Eureka feel for a Dyson price. Did I mention that I am sooooo disappointed? Sadly, this particular vacuum rated higher than the other newer Shark models. This is definitely not what I expect from the Shark name.

Small Capacity
This vacuum is replacing a full-size Shark vacuum that was getting old. The old unit did my entire house of carpets... 7 rooms, 8 with the porch. Filling the container fully. This new vacuum works well, is maneuverable like a sports car, but the collector barely holds 2 rooms of "sweeping", especially if my medium-haired pooch is shedding. I have to unload it a bit too often for my full liking.

Terrible Workmanship
Failed in 6 months. Clear filters, clear tubes, charged battery. Motor sounds like it’s beating a bat against a wall, no suction, overheats and shuts down.

Pretty Good ... But ...
Pros: battery life is pretty good, picks up everything from my hardwood floors and medium pile carpet, crevice tool works really well. Cons: balance is just ok, not great, not terrible, but could certainly be better. There isn't anywhere to store the accessories so they just sit someplace, which is annoying. The vacuum doesn't come with a wall mount and there aren't spots to keep the accessories on the vacuum when you're not using them. It's an expensive vacuum to lean against a wall (or on the floor, or to fold in half) while it charges, a wall mount just makes sense. I would not purchase again, and would instead go back to the brand I had previously (mostly for the wall mount and accessory storage on the wall mount, tbh)

Faulty fold up mechanism
We bought the Shark Vertex Pro cordless vacuum just over 6 months ago and it has already broken with light use. It has the same fold-up mechanism as this vertex vacuum. While this feature sounds nice as it allows the vacuum to store more compactly, it is not. Additionally, the vacuum cannot be stored without being folded up or without tipping over so it needs to be propped against the wall if this feature breaks. The vacuum itself has worked great other than this. We had a shark before this for many years and loved it which is why we chose shark again but this has been overall disappointing, especially given the price.

Picks up thick dirt so easily
We’re so happy with this vacuum! We have 3 cats and use pellet litter (Okocat Less Mess clumping pellets, to be exact) and our previous cordless vacuum couldn’t really get them up unless we picked the vacuum up and placed it down over the pellets. This picks them up like it’s nothing! It also does a great job at getting hair and dander, there is a lot more dust in the bin than our vacuum before would have. And lastly, the battery life is pretty good - I can vacuum the full apartment (2bed 1 bath) without it dying. We always charge it after every use so that it has a full charge the next time we need it. So happy with this purchase!

Game Changer!
I bought this a month ago and it is a game changer! I have never enjoyed cleaning, but this makes it so nice and I feel it does a great job. I really like the cordless, light weight and manuverability of this cordless vacuum!!! I love that I can get under furniture without bending over or having to move the furniture. Lots of pluses for me.

No suction!
I just purchased this vacuum specifically because I wanted the fabric brush roll for hard floors and delicate area rugs and because it has a detachable battery. The box claims 50% more suction than previous models. I have the previous cordless version with the traditional vacuum head and I can confirm this model has at least 50% LESS suction than my 5 year old model. Surprisingly, I can snap my existing vacuum onto this one and it works great! The new brush roll does a much better job on my wood floors. For this price, I'll have to return it though and see if I can buy just the stick and vacuum head for less to use with my existing model.
