A: No, the Shark S8201 doesn’t have a traditional on/off button. You turn it on by plugging it in, and turn it off by unplugging it. Steam is controlled with a trigger and there’s a mode button for steam levels.

As a mom of two little ones, with one crawling, I really wanted to find something that would clean my floors and not require any sort of chemicals. This product not only made my floors look and feel extremely clean, the steam function picked up some hard to clean spots that I had on my floors. The mop was easy to assemble and the pads are easy to clean. I am extremely impressed with this product and have introduced it to anyone and everyone I can. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to step up their floor cleaning game! You will not be disappointed.

OK but not great
This thing is OK but not really great. It’s difficult to get into tight spots because the spinning is activated / deactivated by the angle of the handle. Every time you deactivate the spinning, you have to bend over to set the steam setting. The water tank is tiny - I refilled it 4 times for a 1600 sqft townhome, using medium and light settings The cable is pretty short, though you can use an extension cord to solve this - I probably moved plugs 7-8 times across a 2 br / 2 ba home. I’m not entirely confident the mop did its job well. Did it steam and scrub? Yes. But there were several spots where the mop failed - and something that my manual Bona didn’t. The steam blaster kind of sucks. It’s pointed outwards so it’ll dissipate before it addresses a difficult spot. This thing may be okay for a small studio apartment, but for a house not really. It’s faster and easier to use a manual spin mop.

It won me over.
I had been tempted for a long time to try a steam mop on my hardwood floors but wasn't sure if it would be worth it, and if not, I'd be stuck with another useless product. But decided to take a chance when I saw this on sale. After taking one quick pass through the main areas of my house, the pads were BLACK!. It's also very lightweight and easy to use. Works great, removes grime and it's easy to use!

Spinning pads
This steamer actually gets floors cleaner, due to the spinning pads. However, Everytime you stop and stand it up, it cuts off and you have to push the button again.

First Shark :(
My first Shark and I’m disappointed. It hardly steams at all. The water canister is hard to fill as it’s not removable. There is no off and on button. You plug it in and it’s on. The handle is hard to move and I’m afraid it’s going to break. Still cleans decent but It doesn’t scrub as advertised.
