The trays fit inside the mouth light, which you charge with an included USB cord. The LED lights take about an hour to charge fully, and will indicate that it is ready with a steady green light. This system is different from using fitted trays that you put bleach in and then put over your teeth; with this kit, you "paint" the whitening bleach onto your teeth with the pens and then bite down on the mouth tray. Turning on the mouth light activates 32 LED's for 15 minutes to accelerate the whitening process.This kit is very easy to use. My only problem with it was the mouth tray shape on the light. While the trays by themselves are flexible, the part of the light that holds them is not; it is rigid and set in a definite curve that cannot be changed or adjusted. The description says that the tray shape is ergonomic and made to fit all sized mouths, but for me, that was not the case. The inside shape of my mouth was slightly wider than the light at the back, so I had to hold the tray with my hand instead of using it hands free; that's the reason for the four star review. Other than that, the kit worked very well and was very effective at whitening my teeth. I have been using it for about a week now, and I can see a real improvement in the color of my teeth. I am very excited to see my final results once I finish using it.One caveat with this kit: it can only be used on natural teeth, and is not meant to be used on veneers, crowns, or dentures.
