Perfect for "Marry Me" recipe
This is perfect for “Marry Me” (google it) chicken or meatballs as a substitute for the sun-dried tomatoes! I prefer it actually! And a few teaspoons actually goes a long way in the recipe! What’s leftover can easily be tossed in a hot pasta dish or cold pasta salad!

Who wants hairy pasta?
In my opinion, the taste is okay, though I agree with other reviewers that it has a rather lemony vibe. But what will make this the first and last time I buy this pesto is the large quantity of fibers in there that look like animal hair. It seriously looks like a cat rolled around on your plate, and that is rather off-putting when you are digging into dinner. My guess is they are bamboo fibers for filler, though I don't see it listed in the ingredients.

This pesto is very bold~ it doesn't have any sweet aftertaste like other brands. If you're looking for something that has a very bold pesto and heavy herb flavor perhaps this is for you. But of you prefer a lighter flavor than I suggest to pass.

Not sure why it's rated poorly
I am shocked to see people rate this low. I've tried so many supermarket pesto brands, and this is by far the best. I am confused people mention hard fibers, do they mean the occasional basil stem? The whole pine nuts are one of my favorite features and this pesto is the closest to home made when my garden isn't in season. Please don't discontinue this

The worst pesto I’ve ever had. It doesn’t taste like basil at all and had little hard fibers in it. Almost tasted like lemon rind but that wasn’t listed in the ingredients. I never waste food and I threw the whole jar out.

Great Big Taste - reasonable sodium level
A whole jar of this very tasty concoction only has 510mg sodium! So, you can make a great, tasty dish, and not blow a low sodium diet. Used it with some heavy cream, low sodium sun-dried tomatoes (different brands have much different sodium counts), a home made low sodium sausage, some al dente pasta (cooked without salt), added a bit a finely shredded mozzarella, and even topped with a bit of parm/reg and the meal was still low sodium!
