A: it can, I wouldn't suggest turning the microwave on though

A: It will sit on top of a car cupholder. It does not fit in my Ford Fusion's cupholder, but make sure that you secure the lid and keep the black flap closed. Even if nudged loose, it won't spill.

A: In case you still need this answered. Hold the cup in your primary hand (by the handle just like you were going to take a drink), place the lid on facing you and spin it on thats it.

Q: Does this new style clear lid work the same as the solid plastic one the Scout mug originally came with? Is it leak proof? I have a Scout mug with the old style solid color lid that is great, but this clear one doesn’t look as durable to me.

I was looking for an insulated coffee mug with a handle for hot tea. There was only one company that I looked at, which is simple modern. I own several of their tumblers that I use for coffee and they are hands-down the best products I have used. I can make coffee in the morning, leave my cup until the afternoon and it is still hot and I do not have to microwave it! Their products are also far cheaper than other premium brands too. I would recommend this brand, it is the only one I purchased from.

Keeps my tea hot for hours. It cools down if you walk away and leave it sitting with the flip top open, of course. For easier removal of the lid, open the flip top for a sec to release any pressure differential. I’ve had one of these cups for a year, and it’s still in great shape.

Great cup! This is actually my second one but the only reason I'm not giving it a full 5 stars is because the black piece that closes over the top can break easily if it's accidentally dropped. It should be a little bit more durable than that. The lid was dropped by itself once and it broke. But I loved it so much, I bought a second. The cup is terrific design and keeps my coffee nice and hot!

Positives: This mug does not leak and nicely fits in my vehicle cup holders! Opportunities: The mug doesn't keep beverages cold as long as I had hoped. I have other brand mugs that do keep cool for hours (i.e. water, juice). I tried to freeze the liquid overnight so see if that would help, but it thaws quicker than I want.

My husband got this mug as a gift over two years ago, and it STILL looks brand new (besides obvious tea stains inside the mug). No scratches or damage. It keeps drinks hot for hours. Yes, it has a tight seal, but rather than break it (looking at some silly review complaints) just flip the cap open to stop the seal then twist the lid off. I’m ordering mugs only from this company now.

Great cup. The problems that previous reviews have pointed out are solved if the black lid is left open while containing hot beverages allowing for expansion. The threads on the cap allow for use by right or left handed. Right handed use point the lip of the lid towards you and turn the cap left till it sits loosely into threads then turn right. If turns hard don't force it turn left and restart. Left hand reverse above.

After one month of light, use the flap on the lid, broke off. Then, a few days later, the lid gasket got jammed. I was not able to unscrew the lid. I tried so hard that the handle broke off. Loved it, unfortunately build quality is bad. I wish I could get a refund.

This is an awesome little cup. I love how tight the seal is. It's also annoying to open, maybe just when it's hot -- not sure -- but I guess that's the price ya pay for a secure seal.

If your left handed the twist feature might bother you because it always lands backwards. But it's a super nice feature for right handers because it's in the perfect spot all the time for me (but not hubs) not a deal breaker unless those things get under your skin
