Q: Does this bed set require a box spring or will it work with just a mattress?

A: Our beds are designed to be used with a standard mattress and box spring combination.
submitted bySF Customer Service - 8 years agoBrand expertA: I assume you could just use a mattress, but I wouldn't. My box spring is completely hidden by the side paneling. If I removed the box spring, the mattress would barely rise above the side panels, which would not only look weird, but the bed would be extremely low. You'd also have a bunch of the headboard showing, and there may even be a gap between the top of the mattress and the bottom of the headboard.

A: GG certification requires extensive testing and can only be claimed on fabrics that have also been tested. This Pumice fabric does have Green Guard certification.

The frame as well as the headboard are both solid and sturdy. I was a little reluctant to order and invest in a major piece of furniture from Target, but glad I did, it's amazing. It was relatively easy to assemble. The fabric covered side rails and headboard look sharp, the material is nice and neutral. Also, it has a middle support bar for the box springs and mattress.

This bed frame is great quality. We love the look of it and its easy maintenance and upkeep. The velvet fabric seems durable and like it will hold up well with time. we have hit the sides of the bed without scratching the fabric and anything that spills on it can be easily wiped away. The only advice I would offer is to not buy the black color when you have three light colored dogs unless you enjoy lint rolling every other day. Still it is worth it because it is beautiful.

When your only job as a manufacturer is to ship a KING size bed, then please ship a KING size bed and don't send me parts for a queen size bed instead. I have been waiting for this bed for weeks only to start assembling and to find out that some parts are for a Queen size. HOW FRUSTRATING!!! I called Target customer service and told they have to get in touch with the manufacturer and it will take a few days. All I want is for this bed to be assembled after waiting for it for weeks and now I have to wait a few more weeks for Target to get in touch with them and hopefully send me the correct parts.

Even more beautiful in person. Soft velvet finish and the prettiest pale gray color. Took me about 3 hours to put together. Measurements are precise...I have a sleep number king bed and base that fit beautifully in this frame.

I got this bed on a ridiculous sale and added a coupon, and it is such an amazing bed for the price! The headboard is so soft and all the parts are heavy which made me believe the bed would be really sturdy. I put this together myself with only some help from my husband, and we found it difficult to get the rails screwed in very tight. The bed will creak with tossing and turning during the night, which I didn't expect from a new bed. Other than that, it is perfect!

This bed and headboard is beautiful. Its very luxurious looking and was really inexpensive. The only down side is that the bed is very low profile and it is difficult to store things underneath it :( This bed requires a box spring. I bought an 8 inch box high spring and a bit of the box spring is sticking out above the side. I would say a 5 inch box high box spring would fit better. The bed was easy to assemble. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I would highly recommend this bed frame, especially for the price. The product is very true to the photo. It is time consuming to build the bed, but not overly difficult. Great quality and looks luxurious.

Arrived in two boxes, one was light with the headboard and the other very heavy with side boards and support beams. It took about an hour to unpack the boxes and remove each piece from its packaging because they must've used an entire roll of packing tape to secure everything. I was able to assemble this by myself, but it did take about three hours. Some tools are included and the only tools you will have to provide are a flat head and phillips screwdriver. The bed is elegant, sturdy, and does not squeak. I ordered in black and am very pleased with the quality of the velvet. I am very happy with the multiple sturdy metal horizontal support beams; so far they offer great protection for my cal king box spring and mattress. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the side boards do not align perfectly with the foot board no matter how I attempted to attach them. I read about this issue in other customer reviews, and unfortunately my bed suffers from the same imperfection. It looks like the side boards are slightly warped. Luckily you can not tell because I let the bed skirt drape over.

I love this bed! It exceeded my expectations and it looks way better in person. Looks like it costs a lot more than it did. It did take several hours to put together, it didn't include the exact screws that were listed on the packing slip but I managed to put it together. Delivery was very fast, I received my bed a week and a half after I placed my order.

I purchased the queen sized bed in grey. The boxes were super heavy and I had to take everything out piece by piece in order to carry them in the house. The pieces of the frame are very sturdy! The material on the headboard and baseboards is very plush and looks very high quality. While I have seen other people saying they needed help putting this bed together, I did not find that to be the case. I had to use a little muscle but I was able to assemble the entire bed myself. It did take about an hour and a half to two hours as there are a lot of pieces to screw together. Also like has previously been mentioned, the baseboards to not come together flush at the corners. I knew about this problem before I began to assemble my bed and I still was unable to get them perfectly aligned. However once I had my mattress and bedding in place I don't even notice it at all. I am sooo happy with the way it turned out, it adds so much style and class to my room and is exactly what I've been looking for for years. All of this, and I got it on sale plus 5% off and free shipping using my Target Card. Couldn't be happier!

The bed arrived much sooner than expected. I am very pleased with the shipping process. As for the bed itself it is lovely. We ordered the twin size bed in the burgundy wine color. My daughter loves it, perfect for the not so girly teenage girl. The setup required two people, my husband and son and they had it assembled in less than 1.5 hours. I highly recommend this bed to anyone who is considering it.

This bed is really pretty - and for the cost it is a bargain. The fabric is plush and pretty and the assembly was easy enough. Two person job for sure and in order to get all the foot boards flush you need a little muscle (my dad!). I would recommend this for someone who wants that rich bed feel but doesn't want to spend a fortune. the style is not overly feminine either - with the straight corners so it works well in a bedroom that is shared and you don't want it to be overly girly. Definitely recommended - and it came about 3 weeks faster than they predicted!

The headboard is very pretty and soft. It definitely lightens and softens my room. I wish I could say I LOVED this bed. First off, one of the long frame pieces arrived with a tear in the fabric. I had been wanting a velvet, tufted bed for a long time and was planning on buying one exactly the same from one of the more expensive furniture brands -- until I saw this one! About half the price (plus I got it on sale) and the exact same quality. I didn't set it up, but my father in law did and it took him a pretty long time, so I don't think it's easy. And it's pretty heavy. But it looks really great in the room, is super soft and fluffy to lean against, and people are always shocked when I say I got it from Target!
