Q: Does this bed set require a box spring or will it work with just a mattress?
A: Our beds are designed to be used with a standard mattress and box spring combination.
submitted bySF Customer Service - 7 years agoBrand expertA: I assume you could just use a mattress, but I wouldn't. My box spring is completely hidden by the side paneling. If I removed the box spring, the mattress would barely rise above the side panels, which would not only look weird, but the bed would be extremely low. You'd also have a bunch of the headboard showing, and there may even be a gap between the top of the mattress and the bottom of the headboard.

Q: Is the Saatva foundation (instead of box spring) compatible with this bed? And what size should be chosen to prevent the foundation (or box spring) from showing? Low profile (4.75") and standard (8.75")?
A: This bed is designed to be used with a standard mattress and box spring combination. Please note that there is a 18" inch gap between the bottom of the headboard to the metal bed frame where the box spring sits. The distance from the metal bed frame to the top of the upholstered rail is approximately 7.5". Your best bet is to have the combined height of your box spring and mattress around 18 inches (or more if possible).

Q: Will this bed work with a Tempurpedic mattress and platform? The platform is used in place of a boxspring, just making sure that's ok.
A: Hello, Customers in the past have successfully used adjustable beds. However, we cannot guarantee your adjustable bed would be compatible, due to the wide variety of adjustable beds in the market. Please note, approximately 4-5” of the interior dimensions are lost because of the metal rails/corner brackets that make up the perimeter of the frame. Our beds are designed to be used with a standard mattress and box spring combination. Please see additional dimensions below. Interior Bed Dims w x d x h , lb - TWIN = 39” x 75” - FULL = 54” x 75” - QUEEN = 60” x 80” - KING = 76” x 80” - CAL KING = 72” x 84”
