Guests are saying
This product has garnered mixed feedback from guests regarding its effectiveness in trapping fruit flies and gnats. While some guests report significant success in reducing infestations, others express disappointment with its performance, noting that many flies do not enter the trap. The design is appealing and reusable, allowing for easy refills with apple cider vinegar. Guests appreciate its non-toxic nature, making it suitable for use around food. However, the liquid tends to evaporate quickly, which may limit its longevity.

Doesn't work
1 reply from Woodstream Team team - 9 days ago
Thank you for your feedback on the TERRO® Fruit Fly Trap. We’re sorry to hear it didn’t work as expected. Placing the trap close to fruit fly activity, keeping the entry holes clear, and removing competing food sources can help improve results.

Worthless
Had them out for days and have not gotten one fly. Went out and bought the more exspensive blue light traps and those are actually working.

Best I could find over many years that works
You can actually make your own solution that works somewhat but store buying one from Terro is still the most effective. I get a pack every year for summer. It does catch the most fruit flies indoors. I use it along with the Zevo lights. You need to increase the number of traps if you have a severe infestation and place them strategically in areas that attract the flies. It takes a couple weeks to catch almost all of the flies. I think others who think it doesn’t work may not understand the process. It doesn’t happen overnight. I think for the common fruit flies, it’s the most effective trap that I’ve been able to find. For reviewers who claim it doesn’t work, either they have a severe infestation and didn’t place enough traps or set it up correctly by making sure there’s a good amount of solution, didn’t give the traps enough time (1 to 2 weeks) on top of always making sure there’s enough solution or their insect is not the common fruit fly.

Days later and still no fruit fly caught. I feel like making my own solution of apple cider vinegar combining, dish soap, and optionally sugar into the container! Will see

Does not work
Flies hover over the unit but will not go in like they are aware it’s a trap. Way better off with the Zevo blue light traps.

doesn't work well on its own but!
they didn't really catch anything on their own. maybe 1 in 24 hours. they are attracted to it but they just stay around the outside and dont go in. BUT! If you have one of those sticky gnat traps that you use for plants and stick it on top it works like magic

Must Buy!
These absolutely work 100 times better than the other brands. I purchased the expensive $15 ones that didn’t catch a single bug, with these all of the fruit flies were gone within a few days.

All flies gone in just a few days! BE PATIENT
Purchased this 4 days ago and ALL of the flies are gone. Yes it is true they sit on top for a little bit but you have to be PATIENT for them to go inside it’s not gonna happen right as you set the thing down as some other reviewers may think LOL.

Not worth the money
I bought these on clearance and glad I did. While they caught a couple fo flies, it was just that, only a couple. It isn't worth it if you have to pay full price. You would be better off just googling it and using home remedies. They would be just as easier and a lot cheaper.

Worked great.
I watched Terro’s YouTube video and they emphasized that if you have fruit flies, their traps will work. I can attest that they work well. The video explained that there are similar looking flies, like drain flies. The traps won’t work for other types of flies that can be mistaken for fruit flies.

Its worth a try
I seen some reviews that might have swayed me not to get it but I just went for it. It’s true they hang out on top a lot before going in but they do eventually go in. It got rid of the entire infestation of fruit flies! It’s been a few weeks and the solution is dried up and all of the nasty flies are dried up at the bottom I really like terro traps.!

Meh, it's fine
It works, but isnt “fast-acting” like the listing says. Sometimes the gnats just fly around or sit on it, trying to figure out where the smell is coming from. If you want a cheap DIY alternative, just put some apple cider vinegar in a soda bottle cap and hide them around your kitchen. That’s basically what this is, but with a cute container. I would also recommend fixing the problem from the root. Pour boiling water or diluted bleach down your kitchen sink to kill any possible eggs or breeding grounds that may be there. Don’t leave rotting food (or any food) out uncovered, and keep kitchen surfaces clean. Also note: the ACV bottle cap method might be more effective because the flies dive right in. This trap allows the flies to just sit around on it or sit on the ‘ceiling’ of it (just to crawl back out)

Disappointed! I saw a couple of fruit flies sitting on top of it, but they never went in. Did not work at all!

We are sorry to hear this! Fruit flies cannot resist our liquid lure and will eventually find their way into the TERRO® Fruit Fly Trap. However, fungus gnats and drain flies are often mistaken for fruit flies, and these pesky little insects are not attracted to this trap. If you continue to be unhappy with your purchase, please feel free to contact the original retailer for assistance with a refund.

Terro Fruit Fly Trap
I don’t know how y’all can have them work for you. I would give it a zero if I could. They don’t work at all. I have not had one go in there and I thought it was just the trap, so I bought more which is stupid. And still don’t work. I tried everything and putting them different places also and they still don’t work. So I don’t recommend them.

We appreciate your feedback. The lure will only attract fruit flies and will have no effect on other kitchen pests. Please contact us at 844-837-7644 with any questions!
