Emotionally intense, beautifully written, and impossible to put down
The opening of this book was difficult for me because Freida McFadden writes with such vivid emotional detail that you don’t just read the experience, you feel it. If you are sensitive to the subject matter, be prepared for how deeply it may resonate. Once I moved past the heavy beginning, the story completely pulled me in. Freida has a gift for tying every thread together while still leaving room for more, and she creates characters you can easily imagine following into another book. As someone from Long Island, I loved seeing familiar New York settings woven into the twists. This was painful at times, unforgettable by the end, and absolutely worth reading.

Falling apart
As soon as I began reading, the pages started falling out of the book. It’s very hard to concentrate and enjoy when you’re trying to hold the book together as you read.
