Book Synopsis

Christina Lauren, the instant New York Times bestselling and "reigning romance queens" (PopSugar), returns with a delicious new romance between the buttoned-up heir of a grocery chain and his free-spirited artist ex as they fake their relationship in order to receive a massive inheritance.

Anna Green thought she was marrying Liam "West" Weston for access to subsidized family housing while at UCLA. She also thought she'd signed divorce papers when the graduation caps were tossed, and they both went on their merry ways.

Three years later, Anna is a starving artist living paycheck to paycheck while West is a Stanford professor. He may be one of four heirs to the Weston Foods conglomerate, but he has little interest in working for the heartless corporation his family built from the ground up. He is interested, however, in his one-hundred-million-dollar inheritance. There's just one catch.

Due to an antiquated clause in his grandfather's will, Liam won't see a penny until he's been happily married for five years. Just when Liam thinks he's in the home stretch, pressure mounts from his family to see this mysterious spouse, and he has no choice but to turn to the one person he's afraid to introduce to his one-percenter parents--his unpolished, not-so-ex-wife.

But in the presence of his family, Liam's fears quickly shift from whether the feisty, foul-mouthed, paint-splattered Anna can play the part to whether the toxic world of wealth will corrupt someone as pure of heart as his surprisingly grounded and loyal wife. Liam will have to ask himself if the price tag on his flimsy cover story is worth losing true love that sprouted from a lie.

Review Quotes

"Another Christina Lauren book to absolutely inhale like the a breath of the freshest, funniest air, this one had me laughing in delight even as I clutched my chest for all the emotion it made me feel. Splashy, summery, deliciously swoony--The Paradise Problem is the book I predict everyone will be reading this season"--Kate Clayborn, author of Georgie, All Along

"Every time I read a new Christina Lauren book I swear it is my favorite...but I suppose that's what happens when each novel is even more delightful than the last. I loved THE PARADISE PROBLEM so much I found myself procrastinating just so I wouldn't reach the end." --Jodi Picoult

The Paradise Problem

TPP was a good read, the characters were likable and detestable. There were definitely some swoon worthy moments! The BIGGEST issue I had was how often God’s name was used and not in a good way. I am tired of reading books where the authors can’t seem to find any appropriate word to convey their point and have no problem using the Lords name in vain. This book takes the cake though on the number of times I had to skip over a part because I refused to use God’s name inappropriately just to get through a story. Authors need to do better! The Lord is not some pawn in the fictional world and his name shouldn’t be used like it doesn’t matter. It’s the ONLY name that matters!

Love CLo!

I loved these authors! This was one of my faves. I can never wait to check out at the library so it’s always a must buy purchase. Loved the story. Loved the spice. The only thing I did not like was Bridget dragging out her reason in the story. Other than that LOVED!
