We can understand how seeing this can be upsetting, but because these are new jeans what you’re describing sounds like ‘optical brightening’. Almost all fabrics are chemically pre-brightened during the manufacturing process so they appear at their best in stores. To even out the color, try the following. -Make a solution of ½ cup of liquid laundry detergent (preferably with bleach alternative) and 2 cups of warm water. -Increase this amount proportionately as needed to make sure the item is totally submerged. (Increase the quantities if necessary to make enough solution.) -Soak the affected item for 30 minutes. Weigh the item down with a heavy item, such as a dinner plate, to make sure all of it is in the solution. (If the item is not completely covered, the area that’s not covered will appear darker.) -After soaking, wash the item again in line with the care instructions.
