As for cancer… every living being - people and animals - are born with cells that can become cancerous. Run a DNA test through Ancestry.com and find out if your genes have a higher likelihood to develop certain types of cancers. You can find more reliable cancer info if you reach out to the Cancer Society, and read medical journals like JAMA ( Journal of American Medical Association).   • A: Even if you use the Tide gentle type, be careful choosing what type of fabric softener and dryer sheets you use. Everything should be for sensitive skin. Check for potential allergens lurking in the ingredients list. For example, I am highly allergic to PEG (polyethylene glycol). I have to make sure products I eat or drink, make up, toothpaste, skin cleaners, soaps, over the counter meds ( like some eye drops or Benadryl!) are PEG -free.

  • A: Bounce is a great fabric softener. And as a Tide user for over 50 years, I find it still makes a positive difference to use some sort of fabric softener… since Bounce came out, I like Bounce best vs a liquid additive. But it is personal choice.

Absolutely No Way!

I used Tide Ultra for years with no problem. They discontinued it so I decided to try Tide Original. It's the absolute worst. My asthma was triggered big time! The smell of the fragrance is terrible and after washing a load of clothes, I had to wash that load three times to get rid of the smell! And there's a slight lingering scent. One star is too much.

Irritating ingredients !!

While it’s effective at cleaning, it contains synthetic fragrance, optical brighteners, enzymes, dyes, and preservatives that can be irritating—especially for people with sensitive skin, allergies, or eczema. Some of these ingredients don’t actually clean clothes; they just make them appear brighter and can stay in fabric after washing. This isn’t about fear or shaming—just making informed choices about what we bring into our homes. Always read the back of the bottle and decide what works best for you. That said—Tide does offer Free & Gentle / Free & Clear options that skip the fragrance and dyes, which are a better fit for sensitive skin.
