The Too Faced Shadow Insurance eyeshadow primer has garnered a mix of admiration and frustration from guests. Many appreciate its lightweight formula that keeps eyeshadow vibrant and crease-free throughout the day, making it a staple in their makeup routines. However, the recent change to a wand applicator has led to dissatisfaction, with guests noting difficulties in accessing the product and concerns about the amount of product dispensed. Overall, while the primer's performance remains strong, the packaging change has left many longing for the previous squeeze tube design.

Go to for years. Hate the new packaging!

I have used this product for years and love it. Have not found anything else that protects eye makeup from creasing and smudging like this does. Works in humid environments too. I often receive compliments on my shadow and am asked what brand I use. To which I answer but tell them it only looks this good because of the primer I use. Having said that, I have gone from buying this product twice a year to practically every month because of the new packaging. The cap is very delicate and cracks almost immediately upon use, which dries the product out. I've managed this by using electrical tape to wrap the cap as soon as it cracks, which prolongs the product's usability for a while. It's very annoying and I wish Too Faced would pay attention to this. But I can't live without it, so I put up the annoyance and extra expense.

New packaging is impossible to use and get anything out off. Doesn't go on easy, huge pain. Was a cult follower of the old stuff.
Applicator is hard to use

I had a hard time applying. The applicator is like a feathered sponged. What I was able to apply did not layer correctly. I did not use. The shadow palette was great. The colors stayed on well all day. Without the primer. I would not buy again.

While this product did hold my eye shadow in place during a 10 hour bartending shift and then through 4 hours of sleep, the product is extremely difficult to get out of the container and does not want to come off the "doe" tip and onto my skin. I can only imagine the amount of product that is waisted inside the packaging if I can't even get it to adhere to the doe tip while it is brand new. I also didn't appreciate that it messed with my other products do to how "aggressive" I had to be to get the product off the doe tip.

This is the best eye primer I've used but the old packaging needs to come back. Like many of the other reviews this new packaging is horrible. Produce dried out and the lid cracks. Thought it was a fluke but it happened again and I came here to see if it's just me but no. Going to switch to something else until I see a change has been made. I hoping for it!

I have been a faithful user of this product for years. I started using it because I was gifted a small sample of it, and that sample lasted me for over a year with regular use. It's been my holy grail ever since. The product now comes in a bottle with a doe foot applicator, and it's much harder to get the product out of the bottle and it dried up very fast. I didn't even get a year's use out of this, when normally it last over a year (and even my small sample lasted over a year). I don't know if the product has dried up or there is much less present in the bottle now, but I'm not going to spend almost $30 on it now.

I like the product itself. it helps my eyeliner stay in place in Houstons humid weather. However, I wouldnt buy it again because either there isn't a lot of product or the tube packaging makes it difficult to get all of it out. Also, because the tube is not see through, I'm unable to see if the product is really all gone or just unreachable with the flimsy applicator.
BAD PACKAGING :(

I used to love this product, but with the last change of packaging it became useless, the tube is too hard, the brush cant catch all the product inside and it gets dry too soon. The product was wanderfull until this last "upgrade", please go bakc to the old packaging!

I have tried many bases. This is the only on that worked all day during menopause and no eye shadow creases. I hate the the tube. The tube was perfect.

I have used this in the tube form for a very long time. Cannot stand this new applicator/container. The applicator is absolutely too flimsy to be useful, the product feels super dry, I have to use my fingers because the applicator is so terrible anyway… Why even bother with the change if it's not BETTER? Major fail and I'm changing brands.
AWFUL

This was an amazing primer when it was in the squeeze tube. Now it is in a hard tube with an applicator. Both the formula and the applicator are WORTHLESS. I DO NOT recommend!!!

I really don't understand why they would change everything about this primer when it was already so popular and loved before. It was my fav but now its terrible. Ughhhh

Absolutely hate this new packaging! The former packaging was so much better and could get more product out of it. The wand is flimsy and doesn't put enough product on your eye if you are swiping it on (definitely do not recommend doing so). The product barely comes out of the bottle. Pretty sure most of it is caked on the sides or the bottom, which is difficult getting out of the bottle with how it is made. Such a disappointment!
Stop changing the packaging!

Loved the product when it was in the squeeze tube. With this hard bottle and wand - I feel like im fighting to get any. I question if there is even anything in the tube. Unfortunately I will not buy this again if this is the style they're using

I do not like the new packaging or formula. The formula dries white and flaky leaving my eyelids a mess. It's not easy to wipe off and my eyeshadow does not last.
The new formula/packaging is GARBAGE

I was a diehard loyal fan of the old two faced primer in the soft plastic tube. The product was wonderful and I literally recommended it to everyone. After one use of the new product I was immediately disappointed. 1. It smells like coconut- I personally have a vert strong aversion to fake coconut smells and its absolutely terrible. 2. The formula has changed, the consistency is much thicker/dryer than the previous product. 3. You actually get less product now for the same amount (old tube was .35oz, new one is .20oz) 4. The applicator is horrible. It's like a lip gloss but the everything is absorbed in the applicator and I had to re-swab 3 times to get enough product. 5. I had a bad reaction and my eyelids were super dry and red after use. I will never be purchasing this product again. Such a shame that after using for over a decade they had to destroy a truly wonderful product.

Used to use this for years when it came in a squeeze tube. But this new hard packaging witb a wand is terrible. Fekt like it was ok for a frw weeks and now I can't get anything on the wand. Couldn't have all dried up in such a short amount of time. What a waste of money. Wish I could give this zero stars.
