It is hard to find mattress protectors that aren't waterproof. I like to put a non-waterproof mattress protector over the top of a thin one that is waterproof. This way, I only have to wash the non-waterproof one regularly, which is so much easier than dealing with all the water that gets trapped in the waterproof one in the washing machine, but I still have the protection of a waterproof layer as well. Highly recommend this set up and this mattress protector in particular works great for it.

I was looking for a PLAIN, washable "cover". Not a waterproof windbreaker that swishes when you move, not a cooling mat, not a pillow topper.. PLAIN. Simple, protect the mattress from sweat or potential dyes from sheets or lint from linen.. whatever. I searched for weeks. I'm not sure why I didn't think to try Target but I was able to feel it in store and this was it. Had it for several weeks and also washed it. If you're looking for a very light quilted protector essentially like a few sheets, this is it. It's actually decent quality too since it held up in the hot water from the washer and hot dryer.
