Q: Hi , how do you extend the stand?

A: Hey Mshort, The stand contracts within itself so to extend you should find the white line at the top of the stand and pull from here. It may take a little strength at first and then you will find the entire stand will pull out into 8 full sections.

Q: How do you extend the neck of the light up and down? The instructions simply say "3. Extend the rod to the desired height." I've pulled everything possible and can't get it to move.

A: Hi Horatio, You would just need to loosen the piece at the base and then pull from above the white rim located a few inches above the base. Negatives: Ring light extends from the back of the stand. Concerned it will tip over since weight isn’t evenly distributed. Difficult to pull and extend ring light to full 5 ft extension. When it is fully extended pole is wobbly due to pole becoming skinnier the father it is pulled from the base. USB cord to plug in ring light could be longer. Positives: I do like that the ring light height can be adjusted to multiple heights and that there are multiple white light hues and brightness settings. Can become very compact for traveling.

I just needed a light to brighten up my room when im taking pictures and didn't want a regular lamp. I'm not using it to vlog or do anything else so I can only can speak on what I'm using it for. I give it 3 stars cause it does what I need it to do, it's bright enough for me, but wouldn't insert my phone in the holder part cause my phone might risk getting damaged. So far its okay but wouldn't recommend for everyone. Buy at your own risk.

I ordered this last year and just got it today but when I opened it up and turned it on the light won’t even turn on and the back of the ring light looks nothing like the photo

For $50, I really would have liked to think I was getting my money's worth with this product. I needed this for self-tapes at my performing arts college. The day I got it and went to use it, I pulled from the base of the ring light (as the instructions said to) and the whole light popped off of the stand. The pole collapsed down and I couldn't get the two smallest parts out to reattach the light. After using pliers to pull from the pin that went into the light, I got it out. I used super glue to reattach the ring light to the base. Soon enough after only using it maybe once or twice again, the light popped off. After I attached it again, I went to make the pole taller and parts from the bottom of the pole just slid up. I almost hit myself in the face from the sudden force and the ring light falling right towards me. The only reason I'm not asking for a refund or an exchange is because I don't think they would credit me for returning the broken item with superglue on it. This literally lasted a day before breaking. Maybe I got a bad one, but this is not worth the money at all.

This thing is going to tip over, just you wait. Yes the base is nice and large, but the arm used to extend the ring cannot hold the weight of the light itself. Add a phone and it tips. I tightened it with a pair of pliers to get it to stay but the position was not ideal. Way too much money for the product I got. The flexible arm that hold the phone is pure garbage. Keep looking!

This is a great ring light for beginners. I'm not really a vlogger or anything. But I love taking pictures in my room where the lighting is not so great. This ring light enhanced the quality of my pictures 10 fold! Easy set up and I love how it folds down for easy storage. Also love all the different light settings. I wish the flexible arm that holds the phone was stronger. It tends to sag down when I place it phone in the phone holder, so I'm constantly having to adjust it here and there. I also kind of wish the cord to the plug was a big longer though. I like how tall it can stand as well. I also like how I can rotate the phone and bend the arm to different positions to hit certain angles. Overall a good buy. Definitely gets the job done

Pros: Using this ring light for Zoom meetings on my laptop, and it works as expected. Connect it to a USB port on your computer. Adjust the light to the desired height. Use the switch to make the lighting look warmer or cooler (3 options), and brighter or dimmer. Fold it into the base when you want to get it out of the way or for travel. There’s a detachable holder to place a phone in the center of the light - seems fine but I haven’t used it. Cons: The plastic base and stand aren’t of quality construction and look cheap, although they work adequately, which is why I took off one star. Bottom line: I think you should have a ring light if you’re in a lot of online meetings - looks unprofessional when your face can’t be seen clearly. There are many cheaper lights, but this one had the features I wanted at a reasonable price.

Also you can change the brightness of the light to your liking. It's easy to store and doesn't take up much space. You can take it with you everywhere just put in a small tote or backpack. Videos came out really good. I wished it had a remote so that you can start and stop videos without having to edit the beginning and end. But other than that the Air Halo is awesome.

It is compact and lightweight, don't use it outside in the wind, but indoors it is great and very stable. The phone clamp can accommodate a large variety of devices, and the ring light produces A LOT of extra light!!! I prefer the softer light over the bluish tone, but it does both! It even has a little level to show you if it you've positioned it right. Overall very happy.
