no othwr lipstains at the drug store that ive tried compare. i LOVE the applicator, its cooling and lightweight, incredibly buildable. if you put on just a little it and blend it out you get this gorgeous puffy post-makeout lips

I consider this product a hidden gem! I'm a lip stain enthusiast, and I've owned them in chubby stick "marker" form, thin "pen" form, gel-in-a-squeeze-tube, and just about everything in between. I consider these stains by Ulta to be among the very best. The stain applies smoothly and easily with the short doefoot sponge applicator, and feels comfortably moist. It could be a bit more pigmented, but it's easy to layer. I like to apply one coat, let it set while I make up my eyes, then blot the stain, and layer until the desired intensity is achieved. While this stain persists significantly longer than a conventional lipstick, it is not one of those "indelible " products that practically requires sandblasting to remove. But the moisture and comfort are well worth a slight trade-off in tenacity, in my opinion, and this stain fades gracefully. At the end of the day you'll still have a subdued flush of color on your lips. Cruelty-free? Reasonably priced? Fragrance free? Readily available? Yes, PLEASE! I can't think of anything that I don't like about this product, except that I wish there were more shades. I'd love to see a pink orchid, for sure, and maybe a deep true red. So far, I own "Sangria Splash," "Cherry Pie," and "Pink Popsicle"(difficult-to-find bright pink/fuchsia stain), and it's only a matter of time before I cave and get "Very Berry" as well. These are GOOD stuff. 🥰

I really wanted to like this but it was so underwhelming. I only got it for the "stain" element which it severely lacks. It doesnt last through anything, its 100% gone after drink or eating, showering etc. i could lick my lips and its gone. Wouldnt recomment it at all as a stain

I have tested sooo many lip stains and this is by far my favorite, have repurchased at least 3 times. it goes on so smoothly, doesn't cling to dry patches, is buildable, lightweight, gorgeous color, long lasting. i will riot if this ever gets discontinued.

I have been using this since it came out and am never without it. I use it every single day on my face and lips, and nothing else. Its a stain. Ive used them all- even the expensive brands. Nothing lasts all day. But for the price and the gorgeous color, this is the best that I have found. Apply it to complete dry and clean lips and let it dry before adding anything else. I do find that adding gloss makes it wear away much faster. I dont top mine and it lasts for hours. Not a fan of the newer darker shades but cannot live without this classic gorgeous red and bubble gum pink. I will use this until they no longer sell it and I buy them 2 at a time 1-2 times a month. One, if not my favorite product of all time.

This is really easy to apply and lasts all day. The very berry color is great on my light cool skin tone :)

Sadly it did not live up to those hopes, while the colors are gorgeous, and they apply well and dont run from my lip line at all or settle into tiny lines or bleed atound my lips. It did make my lips feel slightly numb for a minute which i find weird? It dries down slowly and feels sticky until it is completely dry then it stops feeling sticky. It transfers and rubs off easily and even if you build up the color, most of it will rub off and leave you with just a light stain of the color except for the area inside of your lips, that will stain bright and not rub off so your lips will look like you just ate a popsicle so if youre into that lip look go for this product. Gloss and balm will remove a lot of the color the stain deposits but this isnt a very drying stain so its easy to go without balm or gloss. Overall its a nice lip product but i just had higher hopes for it. Still searching for the perfect long lasting stain for my lips

I love this stuff! I don't even need liner when I use it! It's so easy to apply and it stays on even after drinking a pot of coffee! It feels nice on my lips! It's not drying at all!

This didn't last as long as other brands.

I am closing in on 50, and the place on my face that most shows that is around my lips. I have a lot of fine lines and lipsticks, lip stains, lip oils, lip waters - they all bleed really easily on me. But this product is an exception! I have 2 different colors, and they both stay put. I don't know how Ulta has accomplished this miracle lol. They also have decent staying power for me - usually 3 or 4 hours. Which might not sound like much, but I have always had problems with lip products fading really quickly on me (other than ultra drying mattes or 2-step products), so this is a major victory. I also love that the colors are relatively subtle with 1 layer (although very buildable), but not so subtle that you can't tell they are there. I often wear 2 layers, and it is the perfect pop of color.

After trying Wonderskin and other brands this cheaper product covers more evenly. The Very Berry is perfect for day time with one coat and night time with two coats and gloss. Love it's staying power and that it doesn't get on my teeth like lipstick. My new favorite 😍

I bought the shade Very Berry. I swatched it on my wrist and had no reaction to it. I wore it for one day on my lips. It doesnt transfer but it doesn't last longer than an hour and a half. I woke up the next morning to extremely swollen and scabbed lips. It hurt to eat or talk for 2 weeks. I have never had an allergic reaction to any foods or makeup products until this one.

Not worth the hype it has been given

I am not one to write reviews but i was looking for a cost affordable lip stain and let me tell you by far I think this is the vest one. It stays a long time on my lips (the longest being 6 hours on my job) and is not uncomfortable to wear! I definitely recommend this one!!

So this stain isn't the longest-lasting or the brightest. But it is a lightweight, forgiving stain that fades well over time. I find these perfect for everyday. I line my lips with the stain and hit with a light coat across the lip. Then i come back through with a second coat and its perfect with a bit of balm or gloss on top. The Clarins stains are longer-lasting but can wear off in a patchy way that these never do. I tend to use my clarins stains to line the lip for evenings out but keep the Ulta brand with me for touch ups.
