V-Tech Digital Audio Baby Monitor with High Quality Sound - DM111

I’m writing this review to pay it forward, since I scoured the reviews before purchasing. Yes, it works wonders!! And for such an affordable price!! The monitor works for way longer than promised on its rechargeable battery. (I think it says it can run for 2 hours without being plugged in but we use it for 6-8 hours unplugged.) We’ve used it every day for the last two months and it’s still perfect. Two months might not be long term but it’s all a brand new parent can ask for for just $18. I feel it will last a long time, and even if it breaks, it’s still superior to other models because it uses radio instead of WiFi and radio is so much more reliable. So happy with this unit!!! Great product if you don’t want to spend a lot on a monitor.

Unless you have the monitor right next to your ear you can’t hear anything. Very disappointed!

Great product BUT limited distance & doesn’t pick up sensitive lower noises.

They are not loud at all. The monitor that stays with baby did not hold a charge and has to be plugged in at all times. The monitor you carry with you, the charge doesn’t last long.

Almost every time I turn off the monitor it turns itself back on randomly, sometimes immediately after letting the button go and sometimes a while later, killing the battery for when I need it. I all too often walk passed it and find that it's on even when I've made sure I turned it off and it stays off for a minute. I haven't figured out why this happen I've just been dealing with it since I've gotten it. And because of this it seems like even when I charge the battery all the way up for hours overnight, the battery life on it does not last.

For the price and what these monitors were made to do, they are totally worth it. Ours have been through the wringer. I will be buying another set, as ours just bit the dust today. We’ve gone through 2 sets and have used them since 2018 when we had our first baby - currently pregnant with baby no 4. As you can imagine, we have not had a day of them not being used. Yes, we’ve had to replace ours twice in the last 5.5 years. However, they are so inexpensive. We got our first one as a shower gift off the registry and so I am very satisfied having spent $30ish on our baby monitoring system. We do not use any other monitoring system. Ours have been jostled and squished in suitcases, dropped in hotels, accidentally bumped off dressers - we have not been gentle with them and they’ve held up well (and we don’t worry about it bc they’re inexpensive)! As to some comments I’ve noticed: we do make sure to angle the monitor toward the baby/child and we make sure that the sound machine is plugged into a different area in the room and is not between the monitor and the child. It can pick up other sound very easily, but we’ve not had a problem with it that we couldn’t fix. Secondly, yes. The monitors are light weight, so if the cord points up, it does tip over. It seems common sense to me, but apparently is not - just twist the cord so it angles toward the floor so it is not top-heavy. 🤦🏼♀️

this is very light plastic won't even sit up have to lay it down and the sound is terrible you can't even hear baby I was so very disappointed I could not believe how cheaply it's made I guess the price should have told me that

This is THE best monitor we own. We have tried a few and this is the cheapest, and best one. The sound quality is unmatched. The battery lasts all day and it has a little clip so you can clip it to your pants!

This is our second set of these after accidentally leaving the first set on vacation and our video monitor officially stopped working. These are perfect for our needs and the price is obviously perfect too! My son sleeps with a sound machine and I heard him crying through the monitor over my own white noise fan without issue! If you google- there are instructions to disable the message that plays when you turn the parent one on!

The volume on this monitor is so low even at the highest setting you can barely hear anything.

But two, these are awesome. I didn’t want anything with a camera in the rooms so this was perfect, exactly what I was looking for.

The monitor frequently turns off. The battery lasts maybe 5 minutes. It has to be plugged in to be reliable. It doesn’t make it useful when you need to walk into a different room.

This has been our best purchase for peace of mind. It always works, and picks up sounds very clearly. It’s simple to use and has never failed us! Small enough to travel with, and easy to plug in and go. I cannot recommend enough!

This monitor is easy to set up and works well. It has less features, but was a good price compared to a lot of the monitors. We keep it plugged in most of the time. The battery seems to last about 8 hours when unplugged.

I would give it a 0 star if that option was available but unfortunately it isn't. In order to use this you need to buy a different kind of battery which was fine. After testing it once. It never went on again. If this is the high quality of target, what would be a low quality item.

“V tech cares about your baby’s safety. Please ensure the baby unit is installed at least 3 feet away from your child, and the cord is out of reach at all times.” Every. Time. Every time we turn this on we have to listen to this message. Super annoying when you think you hear the baby right after you put them down and turn this on real quick and you have to sit through this message. Again. My 7 year old recites the message along with the v tech lady who absolutely cares about your baby’s safety and not CYA because a lawyer told them to.

Works okay, but the battery doesn’t last long and it cuts in and out, even at close range.
