Vaseline® Intensive Care™ Essential Healing is now Vaseline® Intensive Care™ Nourishing Moisture. With daily exposure to environmental triggers (like wind, lack of humidity, and sun), skin’s natural moisture barrier can break down, allowing water to escape the skin. Vaseline® Intensive Care™ Nourishing Moisture Lotion, formulated with Ultra-Hydrating Lipids and Pure Oat Extract, locks in moisture and deeply nourishes for healthy-looking skin. This body moisturizer is clinically tested to provide 90% more moisture (vs. untreated skin). This body lotion for dry skin absorbs fast and provides 48-hour non-greasy moisture. Use this dermatologist-tested body lotion daily on dry, rough skin for stronger, noticeably healthier skin. This Vaseline® lotion bottle is made of 50% recycled plastic. Q: Can you please say what the scent is?
submitted by Tuner - 5 months ago
A: I would characterize it as an overly sweet floral. Very perfumey and the smell lingers for quite a while. The changed fragrance triggers allergies for me.

Very greasy and filmy. I don’t understand why they got rid of the “non-greasy” formula.

New formula smells very strong and unpleasant; too pricey now in this economy!

I purchased this lotion a couple of times in recent years during this pandemic but it's just constant disappoint every time! A few years ago, they changed the pump to one where you couldn't remove it, so there was still a ton of lotion left inside even when it wouldn't pump anymore, and a ton of older lotion would dry in the opening. This was also the case when I purchased the 3-pack when it was still an option on Target, when the pictures showed the regular type of pump. It turns out only individual bottles packed would have the regular good pumps but not if you buy a pack of multiple in one pack. I don't know if this is the case but I returned it right away when I got the bad pump with the three-pack. But good news, it looks like they've changed the pumps back to the normal, good ones that everyone can use now for individual and multipacks (also people with motor issues and disabilities struggled to use that new pump). However, my issue is mainly with the new formula. I still have an older bottle and the scent is much more subtle. The new formula is overwhelming and it even makes me nauseous, and I'm not someone who is sensitive to smells (so heads up if you are). I don't know why they changed the scent and intensified it but it would be better to go back to the previous formula. My other issues are that the price for one bottle is getting way out of hand now, almost $10 for one bottle... Ridiculous! And the pump doesn't reach all the way down or there is not an efficient way to get all of the lotion at the bottom out, when it won't get pumped out anymore. There's usually enough to fill a small travel bottle when the pump no longer works for me and I cut it open and scrape it out. Wish these were a bit cheaper and I didn't have to do so much to get to the inch of lotion left at the bottom. I've used Vaseline lotion for years so I've stuck with them and it does the job for my face and body, but the price is getting too much.

The below formula change reviews are true

All the below reviews about the changes and diminished quality are true and I'm heartbroken. I used this lotion religiously for years and it was incredible. I need petroleum jelly in my lotion and this was perfect. It wasn't greasy, and was thick and creamy. The lotion now is thin, watery and incredibly greasy. I think it's telling the new bottle no longer has a red banner that says non-greasy and it is very tiny on the back so it kind of says it but can't declare it loudly. I was hoping the changes weren't too bad, but after applying it to my arms and legs before bed, I was itching all night and had to take a shower again. I'm just finishing a bottle from the old formula and I can literally feel the difference between the lotions when I apply each version to one hand and the other. The difference isn't subtle, it is incredibly noticeable. I'm not sure what I'm going to do now, the lotion had been apart of my bedtime routine because my skin dries out after my shower before bed. I'm writing this review the morning after using the new lotion and my skin is still greasy. I can't believe they changed the formula. I'm not sure their is a significant amount of petroleum jelly in it which is the entire reason I choose Vaseline brand. I'm beyond disappointed.

So the below review I wrote this morning was removed from Vaseline's website because it doesn't meet their posting guidelines, but doesn't say how, so I'm posting it here instead. Additionally, I attached photos of their guidelines, so not sure what in my review violates these, other than I call out the possibilty of their formula change is due to corporate greed. (In addition, the reviews you see from the Vaseline pulled reviews below, my review echos their issues. I believe they want to hush the fact they are greedy - maybe that's why they pulled my review). I think it's telling the new bottle no longer has a red banner that says non-greasy and it is very tiny on the back so it kind of says it but can't declare it loudly - this is probably because it is now a lie. I was hoping the changes weren't too bad, but after applying it to my arms and legs before bed, I was itching all night and had to take a shower again. I'm just finishing a bottle from the old formula and I can literally feel the difference between the lotions when I apply each version to one hand and the other. I'm writing this review the morning after using the new lotion and my skin is still greasy. I can't believe they changed the formula - it's obvious they wanted to increase their profit margins by swapping quality ingredients for cheep fillers and junk. I'm not sure their is a significant amount of petroleum jelly in it which is the entire reason I choose Vaseline brand. I'm beyond disappointed but also stunned at the poor business practices - do you really think you will continue to make money on this product after this? I guess this was their way to phase out the SKU, which is dumb - discontinue it outright if that's the case, but seriously, you maybe want to create brand loyalty? I don't understand your business practices other than you hope people will overlook your poor quality products to keep your profit margins wide.

Keep Changing Formulas - 5 months ago

I don't know what is up with unilever. They make products that work great for years then their mentally ill mind decides to change formula and they get backlash and all they can say is "please email us to talk about it" but they'll never do anything about it. Useless company. They did the exact same thing with degree deodorants 48 hour version worked great for years now they changed the formula to 72 hours and crap doesn't even last 6 hours. Unilever is the most stupid company I know

my only minor gripe is the perfume smell which is very strong, i wish it were odorless but more importantly this stuff really mosturizes my scaly, crusty feet which can become so dry they crack and become sore. After a few applications of this stuff my feet feel and look fine so thank you and keep up the good work
Beware of New Formula

I used to absolutely love this lotion. My sensitive skin can’t take any lotions with added perfumes. This fit the bill and it was super moisturizing. However, they’ve recently changed the formula and the lotion is not only less moisturizing but now it has a really weird sugary smell. It’s a shame. This product was my lifeline for years. I can’t find anything else like it. I do hope they change it back.

If I could give this 0 stars I would! I have been using this lotion for years and loved it. As stated by someone else, they changed the formula. So disappointed. First the scent is stronger which I don't like. Second, it's not as creamy as the old formula and leaves my skin feeling more dry then I started with! I guess it's due to the added alcohol. I will not be buying this lotion anymore, unless they go back to the old formula. The creamy texture with the old formula is the reason I stuck with it for so many years. So sad.

If it’s worked so well for years why did it change? Added so many more unnecessary ingredients. Skin doesn't stay moisturized. & Yes I tested it. As I still have a few old bottles because I panicked & bought them when the new formula fell flat. Did you guys sell the original formula? That’s how lost i am... Genuine question. Why?

I have such sensitive skin to the point where if I use a scented body wash in the shower, I have a rash and hives all day long. Same thing with lotion. This was the only lotion I would use because it was so great for my sensitive skin. The fragrance and added alcohols do nothing but destroy the product. I will be returning this. Why could you not make a fragranced and fragrance free version of the original formula. I just don’t get it. Really disappointed.
