Q: How do you start the game? Do you have to place the initial numbers? I thought Sudoky starts with numbers already on hte board.

there must not have been any quality control on this game... several spots are not not enough for the dowels, and several dowels are too large.. the worst part is that mine came with thirteen 6s... and only seven 9s... literally did nobody check these games? not worth $55

Was super excited about this, and will be keeping it, but could use improvements. Agree with other commenters that the quality of the pegs is inconsistent. Also all of the numbers are the same color, so you can’t tell which pegs were part of the original layout template versus ones you add in without constantly checking against the template. They should have the other side of the pegs have the numbers in a different color so you can see what the “base” numbers are.

For the price I was expecting better quality. Half the pegs are too large for the holes. The numbers are almost the same color as the darker shade of wood making several extremely hard to read.

I love the concept, long overdue. The pieces are not consistent, some pegs too big for hole. Brass lines, not flat enough and glue work/seal is not smooth. Not a deal breaker because it is more engaging than just the paper & pen version.
Couple large pegs, but it's still worth it...

Very well made game. We had only one, maybe two pegs that were too large, but overall it's great. I'm a huge collector of Hearth and Hand games, and this one did not disappoint. Very beautiful.

As other reviewers have stated, around half of the pegs are too big for the holes and do not fit. Not only do they not fit, but half the numbers are either not fully stamped on or they are on the edge extremely off center. We love collecting the H&H games for our family room, however this one missed the mark big time. It was such a unique concept that we were excited for, but it’s a big miss.

So, first off, this game looks super well made. Nice, heavy, well constructed wood case. The case is beautiful. The numbers/pegs are the problem. Several are half printed on and off center. Which was fine, I went through and painted the missing pieces of numbers on. But when my daughter went to play it, we discovered only about 1/4 of the pegs fit in the holes. They are too big. By a lot. So here I sit, with my Dremel, sanding around the bases so they fit. All of them. Now the wood finish does not match on the bottom. Buying this has felt like a diy nightmare lol 😅 It’s beautiful though so I’m finishing, but wow H&H 😆😩
