Yamaha A-S501 Integrated Amplifier (Black)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the clean look and sound. It looks vintage and that's why I purchased it. I use it to play vinal. Plenty of inputs and a sub out is great. One thing that would improve it is the plastic knobs but they still look good. GREAT AMPLIFIER!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Big improvement over my previous sony amplifier, however on the input selector feature, when I try to turn on my yamaha cd, it doesn't always work. The selector works with other inputs, but works only intermittently with the cd player.

Would recommend anyone looking for accurate music reproduction, consider this amp. Clean controls, equalizer is a nice addition, power enough to feel the music. It replaces a Sansui AU 999 that I've had for years.

Great sound, minimal fuss, the joy of sweet simplicity. Rather than wasting energy building in "features" that no one needs, Yamaha just spent there time on the insides where it matters.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was torn between the A-S501 and the A-S701 but for my application I decided to get the A-S501. The 85 WPC is more than adequate for my listening location and I really like the old look that the silver faceplate shows. I like all the features and I really enjoy it while tied into my computer and a cheap CD player. I use the internal DAC for the CD player and it works amazing. i am using this with a pair of Klipsch RP160M speakers along with a Polk Audio Sub. Amazing sound!! I had another company's receiver for many years and it just seemed to be lacking. It was advertised at 100 WPC but I will tell you that the Yamaha beats it hands down. I don't think for the price point at 85 WPC that you can find anything that will out perform this beauty. I highly recommend this integrated amp and it sure reminds me of the stereo offerings from my time in Germany back in the mid to late 70's. Superb product!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far I am very satisfied. Only have had it for about a month. I was hesitant it wouldn't have enough wattage but it has plenty to for my speakers rated at 100 watts. I enjoy the ability to use the treble and bass adjustments.

Came across Yamaha's new amps and saw very similar specs and great on line reviews. I did buy some vintage Yamaha speakers and am very happy with my choices. #151 Sweepstakes.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks good ,sounds good although switches that turn rather than dials is just a look it's different,and they are flimsy.I purchased this as an upgrade to my vintage NAD amplifier and overall the NAD is more robustly built and also not much difference in sound.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Solid integrated amplifier. A temporary replacement for a 1980s Pioneer integrated amplifier that is in the shop. Sleek look. I like the remote control, the fact that there is a phono stage and it also is designed for modern digital inputs. The sound is solid enough, decent detail, crisp. Enough power for my Polk SDA 2 A speakers. It pales in comparison to the Pioneer which has much more depth of sound. But, they don't make 'em like that anymore… or I'd have to pay in the thousands to match it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second A-S501 amplifier and I'm sold on its clear and engaging sound, integrated DAC with optical & coaxial inputs & variable loudness control. The A+B speaker outputs were required for my main living area and they pair perfectly with my KEF Q350 speakers. You have a customer for life, keep it up Yamaha!!

I paired it with my Kef Q150 speakers, connected a pro Bluetooth receiver, and my music sounds sweet and clear again; Jazz, pop and classical, it all sounds wonderful. I would highly recommend any of the Yamaha integrated amplifiers depending on your power requirements and budget, they're great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an amazing sounding amplifier with a beautiful vintage look that would look amazing in any media centre or HiFi rack/Stand. Thank goodness Yamaha managed to make a high quality excellent sounding amplifier with great power that is actually affordable for the average consumer. These days great sounding HiFi seems to be only accessible by the very wealthy and affordable options seem non existent aside from the Yamaha AS 301/501/801 series amps. This explains why used old hi fi gear is actually going up in price. There is a demand for affordable great sounding well built gear. I really hope Yamaha continues to deliver value at affordable price points.
