Most outdoor post lights are hardwired to mains power. Some models use integrated solar panels with rechargeable batteries and built-in dusk-to-dawn sensors.

Common bulb bases are standard E26 (medium) and candelabra E12. Some fixtures use non-replaceable, integrated LED modules instead of a standard screw-in bulb.

Bodies are typically aluminum or brass, while shades are usually glass. Some solar models use plastic for the body and/or shade.

Output varies by fixture: small integrated LEDs may provide roughly 30–60 lumens around 3000K, while larger hardwired fixtures can produce much higher outputs—some listings note up to about 1500 lumens.

Common mounting options include post mounts (often for 3" posts), wall/column/pier mounts, and separate pier bases. Solar models may offer additional surface or ground mounting choices—hard-surface bases, ground stakes, stake-and-base combos, or U-shaped spikes. Some fixtures include mounting hardware or a pier-mount base.

Listed heights range from about 16 inches to 68.5 inches. When overall dimensions are provided, typical widths and depths fall roughly between 6 and 9 inches.
