The items are made from acrylic, stainless steel, wood, and plastic.

Many items include both imperial (inches) and metric (centimeters) markings. Some grid rulers explicitly show both systems.

Some metal rulers have a cork backing to prevent slipping and protect surfaces. Larger tools like t‑squares may be supplied with heavy protective cloth cases.

Common precision features are beveled inking edges for crisp lines, clear acrylic blades for visibility and accurate right angles, and raised or beveled edges to reduce ink smearing.

A typical 8‑piece set includes triangles, an 18" clear grid‑scale ruler with fine graduations, a lettering guide, protractors, and French curves.

Grid rulers are shown with an 8×8 grid and graduations down to 1/16"; protractors are described with 1/2‑degree graduations. Metric markings are also present on the grid rulers.
