These Toca cajons use a mix of solid woods, multi‑ply birch, and engineered boards: frontplates and resonating bodies made from Baltic birch and almond birch; solid woods such as Siam oak, Indian lilac, tulip poplar, walnut, Brazilian ironwood and meranti; and some models with MDF bodies.
Bass response is shaped by features like built‑in or rear bass ports, bass‑reflex systems, and reinforced or specially shaped sound‑port rings—these elements are intended to amplify or compress low‑end frequencies.
Some models and cajon kits include Piezo pickups and quality output jacks so the cajon can be plugged into an amplifier or PA for amplified performance.
Weights in this selection range from about 8.3 pounds for compact models up to about 28.23 pounds for larger kit‑style instruments.
