A: Hi there! Thanks so much for your question. This rug doesn’t have a full traditional backing, but it does contain latex to help stabilize the rug and provide some grip.

A: Hi there! Thanks so much for your question. The back of the rug, the part that touches the floor, is made with 19% latex. It’s noted as having “no full backing,” which just means it doesn’t have a complete extra layer, but the latex still helps give it some grip and structure underneath. So you'll mostly have latex in contact with the floor.

The carpet has a smell but literally every carpet I have bought has a smell. The instructions say to air it out. HOWEVER, the carpet is so plush and soft it doesn’t even matter that it has a smell! It feels amazing beneath my feet! I would definitely recommend this rug and it looks so much better than the pictures give it credit. My daughter loves laying on this rug! 5 stars all the way!
