Q: I see a red tape, possibly a joint when the cord is fully pulled out. Anyone else see an electrical tape used to insulate joints at the very end or is mine used? I haven't removed the tape yet to see if it is indeed a joint as the iron worked fine.

To turn the iron back on, you will need to move the iron, and it will turn back on and start to heat back up. This is an awesome iron. Heats up quickly and cools down quickly. The 8 ft’ retractable cord is the perfect length. Great steam feature for getting wrinkles out of curtains (or anything ) vertically. That’s a cool feature. 3 way shutoff is wonderful. There’s no OFF button. If you want to turn it off quickly, leave it face down for for 30 seconds on the soleplate or side, or 8 minutes on the heel rest and the red light starts blinking after the time is up. If you do nothing, when the red light is blinking, it will continue to shut off. If you want to resume ironing, just start ironing again and it continues with heat. I prefer to shut it off by turning it on the sole plate so no one accidentally touches the sole plate while it’s hot. The auto clean system is great - just be know that you have to hold the auto clean button the entire time without letting go. It’s not as easy as it sounds if you have little hands like me but I got it done. The sole plate glides easily over whatever you’re ironing and does a fantastic job of getting wrinkles out. Lots of cool features in this iron! I love it! great value, sturdy build- packed with features. 10/10 definitely recommend! PS if you notice water droplets in the water tank when you use your iron for the first time - don’t worry- you DID NOT get a used iron. It’s from quality control testing. It’s all good!

Had an old iron that weighed a ton and thought todays irons were too light to be good at ironing out wrinkles. I was wrong. I just washed and starched my kitchen window coverings (100 % cotton) A light dampening water and this iron with its non with coated plate took out every wrinkle with little to no drag and shortened the ironing time by about 30 % . I'm sold on this iron. B and D has once again provided an affordably priced tool that does what it claims and more.
