A: I used vinegar and water in mine and it ruined it. Tried to get it fixed, called all of the places they recommended and no one was helpful! Have since thrown it away and am considering buying another. 100% do not recommend using vinegar and water!
A: Hi, My wife has chemical sensitivity, but she is able to tolerate diluted white vinegar and water (typically 30% white vinegar to filtered water), which is normally very compatible with plastics and liquid seals. Can the mfr please comment specifically on what the strength of diluted white vinegar "might damage" the machine? Or is this as with many mfrs, a blanket statement meant primarily to discourage use of alternatives to Bissel's cleaning agent? Also, if diluted white vinegar is known *in fact* to be damaging, what about a mild odorless surfactant to avoid health risks associated with most scented cleaning formulas. Thanks in advance!
A: Good question however we do not recommend using vinegar as it could damage the machine.
A: I'm the original question asker, and I decided to believe Bissell and buy one of these nifty machines. I have now used it 3 times on 1500 sq ft of luxury vinyl. My goodness, the Bissell cleaning solution cleans better than vinegar! No residue at all! Thank you, Bissell, for finally making a mopping solution that works on luxury vinyl! I'm impressed!
A: When used as directed, you shouldn't have residue left on your floors.
A: No, the CrossWave doesn't steam. The BISSELL CrossWave is designed to vacuum and wash sealed hard floors and rugs simultaneously, eliminating the need to sweep then mop. For carpet, we'd still recommend a separate dry vacuum and deep cleaner. Hope this helps!
A: Great question! The CrossWave All-in-One Multi Surface does not actually produce steam but instead sprays formula onto the floor and sucks it back up into the dirty tank. We like to compare it to mopping and vacuuming at the same time!
A: Yes it is, Britth - this cleaner is safe for use on hard floors including vinyl.
A: I don't see why not as it does a great job sucking up the solution so the floor is extremely dry. Much better than just mopping or swifter.
A: No, I find it to be extremely subtle to not noticable. Certainly less than some method floor cleaners, mr clean, and pine sol.
A: Hi idiopath - there is a scent with our cleaning formulas. When using the CrossWave, we only recommend using BISSELL formulas as other chemicals or cleaners could affect the spray.
A: Very well! This machine is designed for use on hard floors including vinyl planks.
A: I don't see why not as it does a great job sucking up excess solution so the floor drys extremely quickly.
A: Yes, based on my experience. It doesn't suck up as much of the solution if the floor is very contoured but it is still dryer after then using a mop.
A: Yes it can, Leo!
A: Strong is a relative term. It is strong enough to pull cat fur off of carpet in my experience and it leaves the floors extremely dry. It also can lift up all sorts of cat food and other misc. debris, unlike the cheapo sifter vac thingy. It has great suction!
A: You bet! This machine will up the water is sprays down along with dirt and debris.
A: Good question! This machine is safe for use on laminate flooring however we only recommend using BISSELL cleaning formulas in this machine.
A: I am sure you could however I would use only use Bissell cleaning solution as other cleaners may be too bubbly or may damage flooring. It works on laminate as it leaves very little water.
A: Yes, it has a button to release the cleaning solution if you do not press that then you are only using the vacuum.
A: Hi Tjm - we recommend using the vacuum and wet function at the same time when cleaning.
