I have you used miracle grow garden soil for years. The new product is not the same and is of much poor or quality. It is mostly mulch and very little garden soil. If I want more try buy mulch if I want garden soil, I buy garden soil. This is.NOT garden soil! It is a fake out! I am very disappointed, especially having purchased 20 bags of this JUNK! My plants are not thriving and seeds are not germinating. If you change the product, you should at least make it clear with new packaging and clear verbiage that you have done so. I am finished with miracle grow because it’s phony marketing.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Miracle-Gro Organics Raised Bed & Garden Soil and appreciate your feedback. The wood material is added to prevent soil compaction and has been proven to help the plants perform better. If plants were recently transplanted they may have transplant shock and can take some time to recover. The seed need consistent warm temperatures and moisture to grow. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. If for any reason you, the consumer, are not satisfied with the results after using this product, you are entitled to get your money back. Limitations apply. The worst soil I have bought

So disappointed with this product. The plants I planted in regular miracle-gro are thriving and healthy but the plants in this organic raised bed soil are struggling. Half the seeds didn’t even come up while I had a 100% seed germination and flowering with the regular miracle-gro. I bought 23 bags of this stuff and it was a total waste of money. 3/4 of the bags were filled with mulch and not soil.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Miracle-Gro Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil and appreciate your feedback. Seeds will not germinate until all growing conditions are to their specific liking. Seeds need warm soil temperature (usually 55 degrees), continuously moist soil, and bright light. Fluctuating temperatures or lack of moisture will delay germination. Very wet soil will cause seeds to rot. A good rule of thumb is that the soil should stay continuously moist, like a squeezed out sponge. Also, some ornamental seed species require a period of cold or soaking in water before they will germinate. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. If for any reason you, the consumer, are not satisfied with the results after using this product, you are entitled to get your money back. Limitations apply. I’m very disappointed in this product. I purchased several bags in 2025. The soil smelled horribly and contained two types of broken glass, shredded plastic and solid fecal material. Most of the soil was actually shredded wood. I’ve never had a bad MiracleGro product in 30 years of gardening but this product is not what I expect when I buy from a trusted supplier.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Part of the influester review program. It took a while to find this soil, but it was definitely worth the search. The texture was nicely moist, which made planting seeds much easier. I am huge on gardening as I feel I have a brown thumb. So, I used it with my children to create a resurrection garden in celebration of Easter and the arrival of spring. I’m no expert when it comes to planting, but thanks to the high quality of this soil, our seeds sprouted in just a few days. The value of this 1-gallon bag was great, affordable and effective. The packaging was also thick and durable, which was a huge plus since I didn’t want to risk making a mess in the car during transport.

We're sorry to read about your disappointment with Miracle-Gro Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil and appreciate your feedback. Most of our soils, especially potting mixes and garden soils, are made of composted forest products. Composted forest products provide high organic content and nutrients without the concern for soil compaction which often occurs with potting mixes composed primarily of actual topsoil. The coarser material allows for air to reach the roots of the plant which improves plant performance. While small pieces of bark and twigs are intentional components of our growing media, including potting soil, garden soil, lawn soil, topsoil, etc., you should not find large pieces of wood or bark. We want you to be confident in our products. For this reason, we offer a product guarantee. If for any reason you, the consumer, are not satisfied with the results after using this product, you are entitled to get your money back. Limitations apply. I brought a few bags for raised bed for my attempt to grow ‘organic’ fruits. The soil has a nasty smell and lots of shredded plastic and glass and nails. I picked up a few from one bag for the picture. I don’t have the time to write reviews but this is beyond disappointing. I can’t grow organic with soil filled with trash and micro plastics.

I've had wood mulch with smaller wood pieces. Smells like manure hasn't fully composted, several chunks (thumb size and larger) of wood, and tons of bugs (and doubt they're beneficials). I bought several bags because the store was having a sale. Used some of it as mulch (hopefully the wood chunks won't tie up nitrogen in the actual soil). Will probably put the remaining bags in a compost pile and hope they're usable by fall

It promotes mold. I bought 30 bags n it isn't suitable
1 reply from Customer Care team - 3 months ago
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment with Miracle-Gro Organic Raised Bed & Garden Soil. Fungal spores are naturally present in soil. Under suitable conditions, these spores can develop into fungi or mold. Our growing media products are not sterilized and may contain microorganisms, including fungi. In fact, fungi have been scientifically proven to enhance plant growth, which is why we do not sterilize our soil. Mold growth only becomes problematic when there is an overgrowth. This overgrowth typically occurs when the soil excessively wet. The mold that grow on our soils and mulch are generally safe for humans. However, we recommend wearing gloves when handling these materials as a precautionary measure. To address fungal growth, we recommend the following steps: For unused soil: Allow the soil to dry out completely on some newspaper outside before using it. For used soil: Allow the plants to dry out slightly between waterings. This will not harm the plants. Allow the soil to dry out: As the soil dries, the mold, fungi, and moss will subside. Prevent recurrence: Once the mold or fungi have subsided, they should not return as long as the surface is not kept excessively moist, which would promote their growth. We hope this information is helpful. If there is anything we can do to help you have a 5-star experience, please contact our Consumer Services team at 888-295-6902 for assistance.

This soil is perfect for raised bed vegetable garden planting. Very rich and clean with no mysterious garbage mixed in. Holds water well - too well to use as potting soil. The lettuce and herbs we planted did well this year. Thanks Miracle-Gro!
