Wow. I bought this because of the good reviews even after I contacted both Swanson and Starwest to find out if the bargain price was because it was Barley Grass (dried fiber) or if it was, in fact, powdered juice, like the more expensive offerings from other companies and got an answer I was hoping I wouldn't hear. Interestingly, neither company was sure and both put me on hold to find out. Swanson told me they didn't know and Starwest told me they weren't sure, but it appeared to be the fiber. However, the powder is as fine a dust as any powder one has ever seen, which strongly suggests that it's juice powder, as does the fact that, being so fine, there is not a hint of fiber or graininess. Additionally, it's a gorgeous light green. The first negative, and this is regarding ALL Starwest mylar bags, is that they suck! Upon opening (whether the first time or subsequently), the zip lock seal is as likely to tear from the bag as it is to properly open. The zip lock seal is one of the better seals, effectively keeping air out about as well as any zip lock seal, but the quality of its adherence to the side of the bag is as bad as any company's I've ever seen and it might be the worst. A big plus is that this is a very large amount of product that fills two Swanson Green Max containers (if you think I'm exaggerating, the internal dimensions of the bag are 11"X7.25"), but the second negative that's especially bad here in that in transferring from the, now, non-resealable bag a very moisture absorbent ultra-fine powder, you will get Barley Green dust all over everything in the transfer. Nevertheless, I still highly recommend the product, because: It is certified Kosher and Organic. I have no complaints about the quality or the taste of the product. It's as close to tasteless as one could expect. (No one expects grass to taste like chocolate!) I can't imagine finding a better deal on Barley Green anywhere... ...and the color is so appealing, it's a treat to just open the container! Just remember, until they get better bags, open it like you're engaging in surgery--VERY carefully, using every bit of skill you can muster. There are a LOT of complaints about these bags. Yet, even with the bags, I will still repurchase every Starwest product that I've previously purchased from Swanson--Garlic powder, Garlic granules and Caraway seeds. Swanson's price for these items is significantly cheaper than one can buy them direct from Starwest.

Tried lots of Barley Grass over the years. This is the highest quality product I've tried and will keep ordering. I love STARWEST products.

I was skeptical about this product when I first ordered it. However, I find that it is just as good or better than the product that you used to carry. The texture is smooth and it mixes very easily, especially in hot liquids.

This arrived as advertised. Organic powder. I used this in my veggie/fruit smoothies daily in order to alkalize the smoothie. Tastes fine to me and imparts a vibrant green color.

This is one of the best barley juice powder products I have ever used, and it is about half the cost of most other brands. It gives me lots of energy and I add it to my drinks about 4 times a day, a heaping tablespoonful.

OK so I bought this product for my dogs! Read some reviews that said Barley grass would satisfy their desire to always wanting to eat grass at the park. Well they still eat grass! But the product I purchased was as represented by Swanson's and of high quality so Swanson's did their job they article just let me astray. IT WAS NOT A SWANSON's Article

This product taste good, is convenient and is organic. I know it was from China when I bought it but bought it anyway, but the fact that it is from China is bothering m. I use it daily in my smoothie every morning. I will be switching to a product sourced in the US.
