Q: When fully rotated to the lock position, the lid is not registering locked so the Play button doesn’t come on to start mixing. I can seem to troubleshoot why the lid won’t register closed. How can I fix this?

Q: Are there any PFAS in this unit? What are the ice cream freezing containers made of?

  • A: The ice cream containers are made of stainless steel. All Chefman products meet or exceed the safety requirements set forth by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for materials in contract with food or liquids. Concerning PFAS chemicals, Chefman has either switched PFAS surfaces coatings to ceramic or silicon, or is in the process of doing so currently. All products containing intentionally added PFAS are labelled in accordance with individual State laws and listed on the Chefman website, under our disclosure information tab, in accordance with State and Federal laws.

Pure, simple ingredients make for pure, simple bliss

Nothing could be easier: heavy cream, whole milk and sugar form the base for the gelato of your dreams, ready in under an hour I’m not sure this machine will chill deeply enough to create an ultra tart lemon sorbet or concoction containing any nontrivial amount of spirits, but the coffee gelato this machine has churned for me has been reliably flawless.

Very quiet!

So far, so good. Maybe later I’ll let you know how the ice cream turned out. It’s much nicer than having to freeze a bucket before I can make the product and the price was really not bad!

But i like that it comes with a second storage container and that the containers can be fully removed for cleaning. Much more equipment than the one that I am replacing it with!

Easy to use but bad lid material

It’s easy to use but the clip on the transparent lid that locks the paddle broke so the paddle is loose. It must be a design or material issue and there’s no place to get a replacement. The machine is only a little more than a month old. I got it for birthday from my son in February.

Defective

A small tab that holds the paddle in place is missing from the easy-view transparent lid so the paddle falls out. Makes a mess. Other than that it works well and I would be happy if you replace the easy-view transparent lid

No recipes in the box?

A QR code is barely “okay” and for some folks totally worthless if they cannot access the referenced content. I find the interface to be inconsistent and connectivity sporadic and unreliable.
