Perfect starter instrument set

I bought this set for my 18 month old grandson and he absolutely loves it. He loves the xylophone and tambourine shakers the most. He was instantly drawn to them once we opened the box.

Just okay

I liked the variety of instruments in the box. However the quality of the instruments was not what we've come to expect from Melissa and Doug products, particularly the xylophone. I was disappointed that the xylophone was not at all a scale in tune, despite being labeled as such.

Most of the instruments do not even make sound! The point of it is for children to create music and have fun and they can't do it when the instruments do not make sound. Very disappointing!

Great instruments for tots

The instruments are fun and brightly colored. These toys are of course toys designed to look like instruments and they are well suited for toddlers and young children. I'm a mom and nanny to 5 children so these are well played with every day. I'm Not sure his others are disappointed. If they wanted a real harmonica or a better kazoo then buy name brand instruments by people who only make instruments. These are made by a company who makes toys. My children are not professional musicians but they sure like to practice making noise. If your children like that, then this is perfect. All the instruments we have are a year old and the only problem is the paint is chipping away. Best gift we received and our kids love it. Ages 0-5.

Piece of trash.

This is the worst toy we currently have in the house. It looks cute, colors are pretty, but if you want to do with it anything other than looking at it, it will not happen. Maybe it would be good for banging on the walls. Useless for making any type of musical activities.

Disappointed

I was very excited to receive this for my daughter, we have wanted one for a long time. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed. The kazoo doesn't work, the xylophone barely makes sound, and the harmonica is cheap and poorly made. The only items that works are the jingle stick and castanets.

Don't waste your money

We got this for our daughter, and we are very unimpressed. The kazoo doesn't work (hardily), the xylophone isn't tuned well, the harmonica won't work as a real harmonica, forget them trying to learn how to play it, the notes are all off and out of wack. Very disappointing, I wish they took more time to make this better quality. The castanets and tambourine were the only decent items. Don't waste your money.
