Quality anchovies
Delicious! Essential for deviled eggs. The anchovy flavored oil is wonderful in salad dressings, especially Caesar. Just wish Target had the rolled kind too, for shipping.

These smell horribly wrong
King Oscar has my favorite sardines... unfortunately I just bought three cans of their anchovies (exp date mar 26) expecting similar excellence only to find all three were indescribably putrid. Can wasn't bulging or anything like that so I thought I'd give them a try but my girlfriend took one whif and said 'absolutely not!' I eat a lot of anchovies AND I have very low food safety standards... these were just too much.

The worst smell on earth
How is this still being sold? I bought this actually to trap a cat for tnvr because I thought it would be stinky. I opened the can and it sprayed all over my arm. The worst part is it smelled so bad like feces and vomit and garbage all mixed together. I don’t usually eat them so I wasn’t sure if this was normal. Threw it away. Went to the reviews just to see if people actually like this and saw everyone complain that the cans are rotten and expired! How is Target still selling this????

Sometimes Expired
I like them but sometimes when I order them they arrived past expiration date and worse putrid. It seems to be hit and miss but thankfully Target has been very good about replacing them.

Expired Anchovies
I grabbed a tin of these back in March of this year. They smelled foul upon opening, and expired March 2025. I returned them. I tried again this month, only for them to be the same exact ones from March. They were pulled from the shelves, but I still urge you to check your dates before buying these!

Deliciousssss
I don’t understand these reviews? It had to be a mass bad batch or something because I got mine a week ago and the expiration date is 2030! They’re absolutely delicious

Listen to the reviews
All the cans of this brand carried by Target are probably expired or not properly canned. The one I received in April 2025 has a best by date of June 2025 but canned fish should have best by dates years out. When I opened the can the oil sprayed everywhere onto my hair and clothes and it literally smelled like feces. I have never complained about fishy fish but this is not fishy it is rotten. I wish I could get compensation for damages what is this experience?

Tastes off
I bought these in March 25, exp date is Jun 25. Fish looked fine. But smell was off, kinda like meaty. Taste was odd like it was marinated in something before packing. Ate the whole can. No mushy or discolored fillets. Oil was clear. Will not buy this brand anymore as the flavor is not how canned anchovies should taste.

Bad
These are, by far, the worst tinned flat anchovies I've ever had. Would not recommend.

Not what I expected
Expiring date less than 6 months, very short for a canned product
