Q: Can you use the bowl a 2nd time? Or do you need to refreeze before a 2nd use?

submitted by sammy21 - 11 months ago
  • A: The Cuisinart Pure Indulgence 2-Quart Ice Cream Maker (Model ICE-30BCP1) requires its freezer bowl to be completely frozen before each use. After making one batch of ice cream, the bowl warms up and must be refrozen before it can be used again. Attempting to make a second batch without refreezing will result in suboptimal freezing and texture.

    Pretty cool kitchen appliance

Pleasantly surprised at how creamy and delicious the results are. We've tried several of the recipes that came in the book, and each one has been great, with the exception of the chocolate yogurt ( who weren't wild about that one). The device is simple to use and takes no time at all.

    It's okay

It is an okay machine. As long as you have your bowl froze properly before using. I don't hate it, but I don't love it.

Thank you for sharing your tip with the community! For best results with your Cuisinart ICE-30BCP1, we recommend letting the bowl defrost completely, then shaking it and placing it back in the freezer overnight before use. Pure Indulgence Excels In Performance

Pure indulgence is the perfect way to describe this 2 quart ice cream and frozen yogurt machine. Having recently been diagnosed with food allergies, it was necessary for me to find a way to once again enjoy my favorite frozen confections. This attractive little machine is easy to use, makes ice cream, frozen yogurt or sorbet in very short order. It has a very small footprint on my counter. It is easy to use and even easier to clean. Cuisinart has once again come through for me. I own many Cuisinart appliances and each and every one of them is a joy to use.

    So so SIMPLE!!

Received as a gift and have already made several batches of ice cream with the recipes in the book. Both were delicious and perfect texture. Follow directions and it will come out perfectly. If you have stomach issues from store bought ice cream this will solve your problem. An excellent appliance!

    Great taste, easy process

Used this for the first time this weekend. We started with the vanilla ice cream from the recipe book that came with it. Oh it was amazing! Some of the best ice cream we’ve ever had. And it was so easy! We put in the ingredients and 30 minutes later did a taste test and put it in the freezer to finish up. I love that I can control what ingredients go into it so I’m not eating added junk.

    Ice cream maker worked ok.

I expected more of an automated machine, had to get electric blender out to mix ingredients.
1 reply from Cuisinart team - 2 months ago
Thank you for your feedback on the ICE-30BCP1; we’re sorry to hear the experience didn’t meet your expectations. This model is designed to churn ingredients automatically once mixed, and for best results we recommend fully blending ingredients beforehand (by whisk or blender) and ensuring the freezer bowl is completely frozen prior to use. If you’d like help optimizing results or exploring models with more built-in automation, our Consumer Assistance Center is available at 1-800-726-0190. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

Delicious ice cream but scary noise

The machine is so fun and easy to use! The ice cream has been consistently come out amazing. The only drawback is that this machine makes a horrible sound as if something is scratching against something while spinning - like chalk on chalkboard but so much louder. I have to go to a different room or wear headphones because it's way too much.

Even though I've only made 1 batch of Ice cream I'm really enjoyng this ice cream maker. Not overly complicated in my first experience and the outcome was really good. Only made vanilla but getting ready to try the butter pecan recipe. I think this will be a good test for this machine...

Love, love, love my new Cuisinart ice cream maker

I absolutely love my Cuisinart ice cream maker. Ice cream is one of my big weaknesses, and I follow a ketovore diet, so I can have it without guilt. There are so many variations that I want to try out. It's a little bit loud, but I just put it in a back area with the door closed, and I don't hear it all. In fact, I have to set a timer to remind me when it's done
