I was so excited to get this ice cream maker attachment. I purchased originally in June 2023. My first attempt never got thicker than a bad milkshake. However, I reached out and Kitchenaid sent a replacement. The replacement worked well for about a year. Despite the fact that the bowl was stored in our spare freezer, it just wouldn't stay frozen. I lost 2 batches of ingredients before just giving up. I guess I wasn't meant to have homemade ice cream.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this ice cream maker in December and we Love it So much!!! It makes the best ice cream I have ever had. Also it’s healthier for you than store bought. You can eat the ice cream right after the machine has finished or put in the freezer to ripen for a bit either way it is fabulous. We also bought one for our niece and her family and they feel the same way. Thank you kitchen aide for Wonderful product !!!
Don’t hesitate, just buy it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to make rum raisin ice cream for scratch and it was perfect! I froze the bowl overnight and let it church the custard for about 25 minutes. The result was a soft serve texture which was amazing. Then I let the ice cream freeze for two or three hours while I ran errands and it was the similar to the texture I get from Cold Stone. Absolutely AMAZING!! Can’t wait to try other flavors

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This ice cream maker works as designed! Makes great premium ice cream. 23 minutes and done!!!! The bowl seats and locks easily and the paddle assembly was easy to align. I used the bowl cover that comes with the mixer to pour the ice cream batter into the bowl with no mess. I love this ice cream maker (and I love our Artisan series stand mixer, too!)
Bowl broke after a few uses :(

The outside of the bowl is plastic and cracked after a few uses. There is a liquid in between the interior metal bowl and the plastic exterior to help with freezing and making the bowl as cold as possible. I went to get my bowl out of the freezer to make ice cream and the liquid had expanded and broke the bowl and seeped out all over the bowl and freezer. Very bummed for how expensive this bowl is and how few uses I got out of it. The couple of times I used it, it worked great though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is very easy to use and suitable for selected designs so be careful when choosing it. With the ice cream maker, you can make any flavor by trying the recipe which can be searched on Google, TikTok, etc. Moreover, it is easy to use and clean with soap and warm water. For me, it is not any big noise or loud.

Product doesn’t specify that your freezer must reach a certain temperature for it to work. Just because you can freeze water into ice cubes doesn’t mean your freezer is cold enough. Using a thermoworks thermometer my freezer gets down to -19F to -20 on the coldest setting. You might need to buy an entire new refrigerator to get this to work. If you’re in an apartment then you’re out of luck. It would have been much cheaper just to buy a separate ice cream machine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a gift from my husband, we love ice cream and purchased this accessory and the mixer. I set up as directed and the mixer started immediately I was not able to stop it and had to unplug it. I am happy my grandchildren who help me make desserts usually were not around. We were very disappointed I tried to contact support on the weekend b/c I work during the week. All our kitchen appliances are KitchenAide we have not had any other problems.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vanilla ice cream came out so creamy and was easy to make. noise level: the bowl itself was very quiet compared to the metal bowl that I normally use. assembly: it was a little confusing to assemble. I had to look up a tutorial, the mixing attachment doesn’t actually attach to the mixer but once you lock it down into the bowl it’s fine. versatility: I’m not sure, I have only used it for ice cream. You could probably use it to make sorbet too. cleaning: cleaning it was very easy, the ice cream that was left froze so it came off easily I can’t wait to try making different flavors.

This seems way too bulky for the amount it made. This is also way too messy for me to really enjoy it. The whole process is more annoying than it is convenient. Not worth the time in my opinion. Also, unless you have a deep freezer, this takes up a lot of room

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best ice cream ever. At first it was a little hard to get the attachment on, but once I did, it was so easy. The key is to have the mixing part moving before you add the liquid. Then, once it gets soft serve consistency you are done! Make sure to freeze the bowl for a solid 48 hours before trying to make the ice cream
