Very satisfied except for one concern
We are very pleased with this set. The finish is excellent. The way the set was packed is impressive. Protective package insured the set would be delivered without any damage. We have one concern however. If you lift the open tray by the tray with the legs properly opened to the most open position, we have noticed that the legs can slide to a smaller less stable stance, leaving the user with the possibility that the tray will tip over. There is no positive lock to hold the legs completely open.

Tray legs not secure when lifted
Nice quality tables. The table height is 27" about 3" taller than my current TV trays. Just a comment, may be a positive or negative depending on your chair height. They are HEAVY - a little over 10lbs. With 4 trays on the rack, the assembly weighs 47 lbs. Don't plan on moving it far with the single handle. My biggest gripe is that when the tray is lifted by the sides, the legs fold back. This a recipe for disaster with a tray loaded with food. This was a deal killer for my wife. However, because of the weight of the package and the hassle of returning it, we kept the tables. I had to fabricate a metal clip to attach to the bottom of the tray to secure the legs when lifted but still allow it to fold. (I'm retired so I have time to do stuff like this.) TV trays at this price point should have a feature to hold it legs in place when the tray is lifted. Consequently, the low rating.

Dark cherry tray tables add a touch of class to meals by the TV
First thing I noticed about these tray tables; they're heavy! Before I even opened the box they came in, I was struck by how heavy 4 tray tables (inc. stand) were. Second, they are beautiful solid wood tables; much nicer than the light oak tables they replaced. So much nicer that I moved them to an area between kitchen and dining room; I didn't feel that they needed to be hidden any more. And the metal handle on top of the stand adds a cool modern touch, nicely offsetting the dark cherry wood of the trays and base. Beware however, these trays are large, much longer than a standard TV-style tray. This can be a good thing if you've got a lot of food and plates, etc., but the size can at times, be too much. Also, the tray tops don't always stay in place when set up, and I've narrowly avoided disaster on a couple of occasions when the bar under a loaded tray almost slipped out of place. Therefore, a one-star deduction for this apparent lack of stability. Otherwise, highly recommended.
