Uses

Directions

  • A: Hi there! Yes, Our Mineral Line is fully chemical free and Reef Friendly! There is a lot of conversation and debate happening around the impact of sunscreen on coral reefs, so we wanted to share our thoughts on this important issue. As you may know, the regulation in the state of Hawaii (senate bill 2571) and the city of Key West in Florida will prohibit the sale of (nonprescription) sunscreens that contain Oxybenzone and Octinoxate beginning January 1, 2021. Currently, because there is no agreed upon testing protocol, neither “Reef Friendly” nor “Reef Safe” is defined or regulated by the FDA. The truth is, no one really knows what is truly 100% “safe” for the reefs. That’s why we choose to reference “Reef Friendly” for our products – to help inform our community about our products that are both oxybenzone free and octinoxate free, since these are the two ingredients noted in the research leading to the new regulation. All of our sunscreen products throughout the U.S. are oxybenzone free. We are also proud to be nearly complete with the reformulation of a few of our sun care products that still contain octinoxate, which will be released in early 2020, well ahead of the required commencement. Been using it for years.

Been using it for years. Seems to work well. Primarily use it on my face, ears & neck. I don’t use it on my forehead because when it gets in my sweat it’s nasty on my eyes.

My new favorite mineral sunscreen.

My new favorite mineral sunscreen. Goes on smooth and not too dry. Lasts a long time, as it it doesn't rise off easily It smells great, too. A lot of people are hesitant to use mineral sunscreen because it is different, but it is the safer, more responsible choice. And as far as lasting protection goes, I think it is superior.

Makes my skin greasy within 20 minutes. It doesn’t matter if I use it with a moisturizer or alone. Stings the eye no matter if applied carefully around the eye area. White cast(especially darker skin tones) that never goes away. I wish I could return back. Waste of money to be honest.

This is my favorite sunscreen

This is my favorite sunscreen by far but I’m a swimmer and can use up one tube in no time flat, which makes it ridiculously expensive and environmentally unfriendly. Would love a larger pump container option.

I went to a 5

I went to a 5 day, outdoor music festival with minimal shade for the entire time. I used Sun Bums mineral sunscreen in roll on, spray, face stick and lotion form and did not get a sunburn!! I am super super fair skinned so this was IMPRESSIVE. I also have very sensitive skin and have never had a reaction! Below is the photo of how much sunscreen I went through ;)

PMLE protection

I have Polymorphous Light Eruption - a super weird sun allergy - and this is the only sun block that protects me from reacting to the sun. I’ve tried a lot of different sunscreens/blocks etc, but I have a bottle of this in every purse and my car to make sure it’s always on hand!
