Fisher-Price Calming Vibes Hedgehog Soother

This hedgehog has become an essential for our grandson. It’s soft and the music is soothing and not annoying for adults. The vibration is gentle on babies tummy if they’re gassy or have colic. Machine washable and dryer friendly. We have one for fit due car and one for the house.

I will be purchasing this for every new mom I know! The vibrations help soothe baby when you can’t give them immediate attention (like in a stroller or car seat). And the classical music is calming. Bonus: it does NOT have Pachabels Canon in D, in case you dislike that song after years of band or orchestra like me! It does play Air on a G String, which has quickly become my favorite bedtime song for baby.

Literally can hear this playing in my daughter’s room right now as she just drifted asleep. We have been using this since she was a couple months old and are still obsessed. She uses it every night and nap, it helps so much. I believe we’ve only replaced the batteries 2 times in the last year

A favorite for my son. I bought this for him when he was just shy of a month old and it has been well loved since. Always helped with soothing him to sleep, even now near 11 months old. He sometimes turns it on himself if he wakes up in the middle of the night and needs something to soothe himself back to sleep. Its definitely starting to show the signs of wear and tear (looks a little matted like well-loved stuffed animal usually do), so may need to invest in a back up. Well worth the money! If you have a young, colicky infant this is a must buy!

I was gifted the earlier version of the hedgehog soother (the puppy) at my baby shower for my firstborn. We didn’t really think much of it one way or the other and he was relatively disinterested in it. HOWEVER, it became a game changer with my second baby who decided he was done riding in the car midway through brother’s preschool drop off each day with a 20-minute ride home. On a whim I literally chucked it into his car seat and the screaming magically stopped. Heaven. After a couple of years of car and bedtime constant use, it wore out and I looked to replace it. To my devastation I realized it had been discontinued and I also learned it had an obsessive toddler cult following-it was not just my kid with a near unhealthy love for its soothing vibrations. But I prevailed and learned Fisher Price had not left us high and dry but offered an improved model in the hedgehog. It was accepted and integrated into his routine immediately and puppy was abandoned (probably because puppy’s music became ultra creepy when his batteries wore down and fortunately hedgehog does not have that flaw). My son is now six and still uses this to help him fall asleep, fall back asleep, and comfort and calm himself when he’s upset. Three years of heavy use and hedgehog is finally starting to wear out (he still plays music but his vibration is getting worn and that’s the most important feature to my son) and I am here to buy a replacement. It seems like a dumb toy, but it’s amazing. I recommend buying rechargeable batteries (Panasonic are the best) and having a charged pair on hand. If you find the music and vibration aren’t lasting but a few seconds, check the settings- there’s a long and a short option. I don’t know why they have the short option honestly but it’s there. The music isn’t loud or obnoxious and it’s given me sleep back over the years (except when he needs a 3am battery change…). I have joined the Fisher Price soother toddler cult and I have no shame about it. ;)

This is a really nice toy for upset babies. Our twins love it but I wish the music played a bit longer so you didn’t need to keep pushing the button.

My 3 month old was able to rip clumps of the fur out and was on his way to ingesting it. Luckily I was supervising him and caught it before his fist went in his mouth.

Purchased for my daughter in 2023 because she hated the car! This was a life saver!! Purchased again for my son on the way. Highly recommend!

This put my baby to sleep in the car almost instantly for months! Vibrates and plays music and its soft to snuggle. He loved it and more am using it for my second!

This hedgehog is the MVP of our house during our 4-month-old’s sleep regression. The longer music and vibration setting is the most reliable way to get her to sleep. Love that it has a lower volume setting, and she loves the soft fur. We’re going to buy a second one as a backup!

Purchased in 2022 for my daughter. Worked great for years! Purchased again for my son in 2025. Gave out after few weeks. Exchanged for a new one. Gave out again after a few weeks. New manufacturer or something? Quality way down.

My then 3 month loved the soothing of the vibration but after a month the vibration stopped working. The music still works fine but he's uninterested in the music. I would purchase another one but the vibration will probably go out on the one too

I had bought this because of the great reviews. It is definitely worth it! I will put it on my son and he falls asleep so quickly! I set it to the longer music and vibration setting and he loves it! The music is really nice and calming!

Works for newborn to toddler ages. Definitely worth it. We keep it in our diaper bag for crying fits and it always calms him down.

I purchased the Soothing Hedgehog back in 2022 for my daughter; to this day it work amazingly even after being thrown around by a 2 year old. She loves it so much and still uses it. So naturally when I got pregnant with my son I put the Hedgehog (blue) onto my registry. After my son was born i started to use it but within a week the Hedgehog vibration stopped working altogether, the music worked fine. I went to Target; with my receipt from my registry to try snd return it but was not able to. Because I loved this product so much I still purchased a new one and now within a few times of using it, the vibration has also stopped working altogether. Now I don't know if I received faulty equipment or if there is a way to mend this issue.

My daughter has used this everyday since 3 months old! We buy this for everyone we know when they have a baby!
