A: 1. It means that the unit is normally 18.5 Inches; however with the drop leaf extended the depth extends to 30 inches. 2. Yes, the width includes all attachments.

A: When the leaf is down, from front to back, it is 18.5" When you lift the leaf, it adds to that depth (front to back) and is 30" Yes, the 54" includes the towel bar and utensil box.
