Q: Does this cut 8.5 in x 11 in sticker paper into 1 in squares?

A: Max material width is 5.5 so you would have to trim the 8.5 x11 to fit before cutting into squares.

Q: If I was wanting to cut out a donut sticker with a center cut in the "hole" part of the donut, would this machine do that? Also does this function as a printer since it states it is a Writing Machine

A: The machine would absolutely be capable of cutting that! While the Joy is not a traditional printer with ink, it does have the ability to draw/write using Cricut pens in junction with the Design Space software.

A: Crepe paper is NOT a food item. It is a light, crinkly paper that is PRIMARILY used for party streamers. This being said, it PROBABLY won't work in the Cricut.

We also don't have specific settings for multiple layers of product as it needs to stick to the mat or go through the smart rollers in order to feed through the machine. This is a replacement for my first joy which died after much use. I tend to use my joy more than my maker for quick things such as a last minute needed card or quick name for my daughter's school stuff. I have had the maker longer and use it for all my big projects, but the joy just didn't make it, and I had to replace her. I just couldn't be without my quick crafting friend.

This machine is extremely basic. You cannot make custom labels. This does not have a print then cut feature. This machine can only cut or draw with a pen. You cannot design anything with a real picture.

Great little machine for smaller projects. I have the explore but like making cards and dragging out the big machine to do a single card was a hassle. My only complaint is that the part of the plug that plugs into the machine likes to come loose which can be frustrating.
